Im thinking about going with 4x innovations. They run about $250 shipped from what im seeing.
i've got a buddy that paints so i think were gonna do it up with a quick and dirty paint job-should cost me less than a few hundred. i'm not exactly concerned with getting a quality job because the rest of the truck has numerous dings and scratches.

How did this happen? Would sliders have saved it?

I was climbing a hill in some woods. We just got 6"+ of snow a couple days ago which was wet and heavy. While climbing the hill It started spinning so I locked the rear axle. I was between two trees with about 10" of room between each of them and the truck. With the locker engaged it caused the rear to slide which caused me to bounce off the tree just below the ext cab window.
If I had sliders they would have made contact before the body panel would have.

Hard lesson to learn. That's what a locker does in the snow/ice (cause your vehicle to slide down hill, whatever direction that is). Sliders would have helped if they stuck out far enough.

Have you tried to pop the dent out from the inside? Take the panel off and see if there is room (large access hole) to allow your foot to press on the sheet metal. I've done this on dents in the door before.

Welcome to the club, but mine happened trying to squeeze between a rock and tree. Trail was more slippery than I realized.

You can pull the interior plastic out and see if you can push it back, but I'd be surprised if it works. There's a good sized opening for the speaker and storage cubby. I tried that and it just made more sheet metal work for the body shop. On the plus side, I left all the plastic interior out when I took it to the body shop and they did a legit job repairing it (they didn't just fill it with bondo). Heck, even from looking at the inside it was hard to tell that anything had happened.

I've got 4xInnovation's weld on sliders. I rattlecanned them in primer, let that dry, and then rattlecanned them with some bedliner before welding them to the frame. Then welded them to the frame plates and rattlecanned the last welds after they cooled. They're solid. Three grown men can bounce on one side. When you scratch them up, all you have to do is wipe the spot off and rattlecan it again.

Every time I hear someone say I'm getting a locker, I reply"you're going to get a selectable one right?" 95% of the time they reply " no, too expensive" then I have to explain the snowy/ice/slippery down side of the locker. Most of the time no one listens and they buy a spool!!?? Then bitch about their full time locked rear end. My rant doesn't pertain to you OP, just ranting, and I too have got myself in nasty situations in the snow with my locker.

    Dang trees anyhow!

My truck has a elocker although I have had a couple vehicles with lockrights.
Having a selectable locker didnt help/hurt my situation- in the end I had to winch myself up the hill anyways.
Fwiw I had about $800 in swapping in the elocker to my non trd truck, if I had it to do over I would have just bought a lunchbox locker for half the price and bought some sliders with the left over funds..

Mine don't stick out that far. They'll stop someone from dinging my doors but if I lean into a tree I don't know how much good they'll do.
