Never heard it, so I have no feedback. Only have experience with Magnaflow and Flowmaster.

My 14" Magnaflow sounds a little raspy to me. Kinda wish I would have waited on an 18".

I really want these wheels from OMF but they are 16s and the lack of tire options for 37s sucks, just thinking of the future

Well, that was much hard than I expected. Apparently the Hulk installed the previous fan clutch. I had to use a belt strap propped up against the power steering pulley to hold the fan pulley and then use vice grips on each nut to get them off. What a PITA. Then I had to go get new nuts and re install everything. I'm pretty sure my fan clutch was way too stiff. Hopefully my truck is quieter now and does't sound like a school bus coming down the street.

Also replaced my dynamic tensioner for the supercharger with a new one from TRD.

I am hoping these two new parts will get rid of the belt squeal I had at 3500-4000 RPMs. The S/C belt has proper tension now and the fan clutch isn't holding back.

Just go with 17's, plenty of tire options as that's the wheels size a lot of larger tires are going to. I have 39.5" iroks and plan on building some 17" diy beadlocks for them when my other rig sells

Yeah I'll switch to 15 or 17 when these tires need to be replaced, I just fell in love with those wheels

    IMO, a 2.25" is good for a 4 banger. 2.5" for a v6.
You're not going to notice any low end loss or backpressure issues assuming you still have cats. And 2.5" seemed like it was a lot easier to sleeve over than trying to get a 2.25" to work.

I had long tube headers and flowmaster 40 dual pipes with 3.5" tips. Gonna put a magnaflow 14 on my new one

    not to contradict Jason..

But i have 2.5'' pipe and i think it did change my low end and how the truck drives.

    BUT

i have a 96..the odd ball years. Only 1 cat and totally odd ecu compared to you...so..could be irrelevant.

That said, my truck noticed the back pressure change. Plenty. It dies on random occasions coming off high rpms or at startup due to it. Hasn't done it in a while.

Technically, the piping on there is slightly bigger then 2.25 as its metric and its supposedly "perfect" for the motor in terms of performance and all. I still think opening it up helped overall though and id do it again

I went from an 18 magnaflow to a new 14 and hated the noise and rumble took it off within a week.

I am currently running a 24 magnaflow with 2.25 piping all the way back near bumper but tucked under the bed and love it. Its still throaty with wide open throttle but nice and mellow cruising and idle.

I also am running Doug Thorley headers and 2 brand new C.A.R.B. magnaflow cats with an AEM brute force intake.

Being in California I am somewhat limited to aftermarket parts.

Yes. But in terms of definition of cat-back, after the cats.

Interesting. I didn't have any issues (but also supercharged) before the cats were gutted. Strait pipe to the muffler and it does drop RPM low almost to the point of stalling from time to time in the same situation you mentioned above.

yea kinda odd. I figure it must be the 1 cat and different ECU thing. :notsure:

I've had it die on the freeway going 80 after passing someone in 3rd or 4th gear and mid shift to 5th when i popped the clutch out it just died. haha no biggie, fired right up and put it in gear like nothing happened. But it has! haha

Would probably work. Summit also has butt-connector band clamps if you want to go that route.

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-692225/overview/

I had to expand the 2.5" pipe a bit to get it to sleeve. I went hillbilly on it though.

FAI makes a big differents. When boosted you want as little of back preassure as possible.

Not the case with us poor NA folks..

I bet sleeping it would work. Seems a bit over complicated but when's it not with you haha
