Does putting a different exhaust on cause problems with the MAF?

I am getting ready to put a MagnaFlow on my DCSB 2014 V6 and happen to see here someone mention it.

    Will it affect my warranty?

Better off just putting a new Magnaflow muffler on. Your catback is perfectly fine, no other benefits to replacing the whole thing. Warranty issues I highly doubt it.

Unchained, thanks. That is what I get for posting on 2 hours of sleep. The muffler/pipes is what I am doing. Staggered to the computer and read a post on exhaust/MAF and did not think it though.

    Disregard, back to sleep.

No MAF or warranty issues. Straight pipe to muffler is stock size (ruling out the "scavenging issues" myth). Muffler to tip is larger than stock. Benefit of buying the kit is you can DIY without needing a welder and it's easily removable if you sell or have a change of heart.

ur golden.............. I have to second the add a muffler to stock tubing unless its corroded, its already mandrel bent and large enough for our needs until force fed.

ALSO, the last time I bought a cat back (URD 3") the thing leaked until I had the slip joints welded. Theres just no better way IMHO

FWIW, did u know u could slip a soda can thru a 3" exhaust?

    :)

    Re: slip joints.

They will leak. It's an easy fix. Pretend, imagine (or even practice) by slipping two drink straw ends into each other. Blow water through. Some will leak at joint. Wrap tape across the joints like a bandaid on a finger. This will seal the joint and keep from leaking.

Easy fix with this stuff called Tiger wrap. It's maybe $4 at the auto parts store. Once you have everything in its final position, cut a strip of Tiger wrap long enough to go around the pipe once and an additional inch or two for over wrap. Don't do any more than this. You want the clamp to fit over this wrapping. After wrapping, squeeze it tightly to bond with the pipe. Clamp everything down and drive for 20 minutes. The heat will bond the wrap to the joint and seal it up :)

I remember getting in trouble as a kid because I hid all my eggs in the tailpipe of a lifted Bronco at a community Easter egg hunt. They fit so perfectly! I was a kid, what did they expect?
