I think with the ARB, you would probably be close to level at 1.75'' and 3-leaf rear.

However, I am now of the mindset that you should buy once, and buy right. I went through 3 different suspensions to get to my current Icon setup, and it was a big waste of money in the end.

I would either go with a full OME setup (bulletproof, nice and simple with options) or Icon's if you really wanted to drop some coin.

Even if you don't plan on winches or skids, I would go with:

    • OME 886 coils with OME shocks
    • OME rear shocks
    • OME Dakars (no extra overload leaf), or something like Toytek 2'' AAL
    • Possibly smaller stuff like extended brake lines, CB drop, shims, etc

We have the same truck so I thought I would just throw in my 2bits. I put 5100s on the front at 1.75 and the regular 5100 in the back and they actually raised it an inch..

    Rear shocks don't provide lift.

Also, yes in response to your original question McFly, I would go with normal rear 5100's unless you went with Dakar's or another 3+ rear lift.

    Matt,

Appreciate the input. In a perfect world I would do the full OME and be done with it but unfortunately I don't think its in the cards. I wouldn't do the OME without doing the UCAs and the cost just balloons when you go that route to the point of being borderline unjustifyable for what my intentions are with the truck.

The other thing is I'm not sure I want that much lift. I have friends and family that will struggle getting into my truck now and adding 3" on to will make it tricky. In addition with my roof lights I'd be seriously pushing the limits of my garage door opening at 3".

I suppose if I won the lottery things would be different.

I think you would be perfectly happy just adding 5100's at 1.75'' and nothing to the rear. With the ARB, you would be about perfectly level I would guess.

Nothing wrong with 5100's. Only about $100 too.

i think it was a thread on here somewhere. the big argument was its basically just like the KO but with a beefier more aggressive sidewall. also BFG didn't show any improvement in the grip of wet/snowy/icy roads from the KO to the KO2.

Meh. I thought the grip of the KOs I've had was fine. I guess I'll find out for myself in a couple months.

    Nice single cab

Nicw! Exactly like mine. Only difference is my 2015 had 250 miles on it when I picked it up. Now I'm gonna always wonder what happened during those 250 miles!!!!

I already swapped the exhaust for TRD cat-back. Makes a big difference in throttle response, definitely recommend it
