Has anyone gotten one of those pacesetter headers that are like 170 bucks for the toyota 3rz-fe 2.7. If so how was it and was it a simple bolt on. Peace out.:D:D:D:D:):)

I put one on my '97 3rz a year ago and so far so good. Bolted right up. The gaskets that come with it are garbage though so I'd recommend at least buying some quality gaskets when you do the install. I reused the stock metal manifold gasket, and bought a copper 3 bolt collector gasket from summit racing for the header collector to down pipe, then bought a remflex for downpipe to cat. connection. Most people on here prefer the LCE header for a bit better quality and ceramic coating but at $400+ I took my chances with the cheap one especially since its my hunting/offroading rig and so far so good.

it is 2 pieces, the main header, then a down pipe/extension pipe that goes from the header collector down to the cat. The second section also houses the o2 sensor. Probably just to make a simpler install without requiring actual exhaust mods.

Thinking of pacesetters headers for my 2005 tacoma while I have it apart.

any more feedback since this thread was updated??
Any advice other than dont trust the gaskets?

I remember they used to have BISON header gaskets. lasted lifetime of the vehicle. Best header gaskets I have ever seen. Unfortunately they were made of asbestos and discontinued..

I just did a lot of work to my 2014 4x4 (lift, wheels, tires...) and the LCE header along with the ProDryS filter were, BY FAR, the best mods I did. Made a big difference in the "pep" of the little 2.7 Now, it's no rocket ship, but it's noticeably better than it was. Money well spent.

mine is a 2005.. not a lot of extra $$ right now for 450 dollar headers but i will probably do that before its overwith.. would be nice to do right now while i have everything pulled out.. four more bolts and timing cover coming off tomorrow. havent checked threads for turbos but i have always wanted to put a turbo on this motor.. soon i will do lce header though let me know what you think

I put my lce headers on today, went for a drive and am super happy with the performance gain. Definitely more power, easier to get up to highway speeds without having to drop into a lower gear, easier climbing hills in higher gears... This is noticeable with the stock muffler and pro-dry filter.

Thinking about pulling the carbon filter out too...

I run a Pacesetter as a quick option to a cracked cast manifold. I wouldn't do it again either. Spend the coin on an LCE or even the OEM tubular manifold from the last of the 1st gen run. I put all new gaskets, as the PS ones are POS. I've had to replace the collector to extension gasket about once a year and I'm running the high end parts house gaskets. Just this last trip I made, which was about 2 hours, I developed a exhaust leak tick that can be heard when accelerating. Granted I've had it for about 3 years now and it was the cheaply painted version that I stripped and resprayed with high temp, it has held up to quite some abuse. High revs, slow speeds, and then cold water/mud. I'll keep running it until it cracks a weld or finally rusts through and then I'll probably get the LCE one.

    Anyone use the NWOR one?

That is impressive. Almost hard to believe...
    Best performance where? Low/mid/top?
    Which LCE? Equal or Short?

Low end, its supposed to lower the torque peak in the rpm range

While this header may or may not improve performance, that dynograph is complete BS. Easiest way to spot an incorrect graph is to see if horsepower and torque lines cross at 5252rpm. This will happen on EVERY dyno, EVERY engine, EVERY day. (Hp=torque x RPM/5252)

It also shows stock peak torque at 5,000 rpm and peak hp a little lower around 4,600rpm. Also impossible. Torque will never peak higher than HP. Because Math.

Someone's kid at LCE made that on Paint. :)

my pacesetters still goin strong with no leaks at any joint and I've never retorqued any fastners and its had some pretty rough offroading over the last year and a half. Looks a bit rough though as appearantly I didn't cure the hi temp paint I put on it right and a bunch of it flaked off.
