I'm getting some new Pro Comp rims and BFG KO tires installed tomorrow and was planning on using my factory tpms sensors. The tire place said that they should be able to take/pull the sensor off the valve stem and just put a new black valve stem on (to match the flat black rims) and keep my factory valve stems on the factory rims. Do y'all know if this would work? It's a 2013 Tacoma DC Sport.

How's this for a day late (4 actually) and a dollar short. I am sure you have had the work completed but yes, the outer cover on the valve stem is actually the nut that holds it in place.

Actually I haven't because one of the rims were scuffed up when I opened the boxes and they will be sending me a new one. They tire shop plans on taking the sensor off to keep the valve stem in place and putting a new black valve stem to connect the sensor to on the new rim.

I just replaced mine so thought I would post a pic. It's off a 2007 with steel wheels. I am the second owner so don't know for sure if they are stock.
