Any of you guys have experience with the new gobi stealth roof rack? Thinking of getting one, but they are expensive. Wanted to get some reviews/feedback before I drop around $1400 pre install and light bar. Pictures of my Tacoma attached.

Also, I noticed most pictures I see of Tacomas dont have roof racks! Is there a reason I am just not aware of? I am a novice when it comes to this stuff, but I am excited to learn!

If you aren't set on Gobi, I can get you a a full aluminum rack that is low profile with a integrated 40" lightbar full powder coated and shipped for right around $1000. Link to my website in my signature below and link to the thread where customers have posted pics and reviews here.

I am sure gobi makes a good product but 1400 is pretty steep even compared to Frontrunner Industries and Bajarack both of which make great products.

I purchased a Gobi stealth rack for my 4Runner ~ 2 years ago. I was impressed with it when it arrived and it has stood up very well after a couple of seasons. On top of being sturdy and functional it really looks great.

    Would absolutely purchase again.

Gobi roof rack. Icon coilovers, Icon tubular UCAs, FOX 2.0 rear shocks, Icon 3-leaf progressive AAL.
I have one. The price was high but well worth it. That price also includes shipping. It will hold up 600 pounds sitting, and while moving will haul 300 pounds.

I will add that PrInSu Design Studio Roof Racks were not around when I bought my Gobi Rack. If they had been I might not have had an easy decision when I decided on the Gobi.

Late addition to this thread (it's alive!). My previous FJ Gobi rack was wonderful. The single drawback was it wasn't totally flat; followed the roof curveline. Ok, one more drawback.... it made lots of noise. But in terms of durability, it was unmatched. I probably had more than 1000 lbs of lumber up there on occasion. The design offers lots of tiedown options too. I ran it for probably 8 years? Routinely loading up with 4x8 sheets and all other manner of Home Depot swag.

Now I find myself debating between the Prinsu and the Gobi for my Tacoma. It's mostly about minimizing the impact to aesthetics of the Tacoma, and secondly about subtle performance differences. The Gobi has the mesh floor so that's very helpful, particularly for bags, ie mulch. Not so good for washing the top of your cab. The prinsu is likely more quiet than the Gobi, and attachments are easier. So tough to see these in person, not that common in general.
