Good day. First time posting but ive been lurking on here since i bought my truck in 2011 (2009 DCSB 6spd) I found this metal wire webbing in my driveway today. Wondering it fell of my truck and what it is. I looked underneath and could not find anything that looks like this. I guess it is some sort of heat shield/hose renforcement thing. Any idea if it came from the truck? Hope the picutres works. It is about 4 inches long and looks like it would wrap something apporx 1 1/2 in in diameter. Thanks for your input.

That's a piece of flex pipe. Does your car exhaust sound any louder? Take a look underneath at your piping ...

    Generic example:

Perhaps it came off of another vehicle and you picked it up on the road somewhere and carried it home?

Thanks for info. I looked again under the truck. No such thing. My wife left just before i found this. Must have came off of her vehicle. Shes not back yet and will look tomorrow morning. I assume it is off of hers. Is this a big issue? Donald trump thing was a good one.

also. I want to mention how handy TW has been. I have the squeeky throw out bearing and got all the info/ranting about this when i wasnt sure where noise was coming from. Thanks

if it came off of the wifes car you will most likely hear her coming.
flex pipe is a cheap and easy way to route exhaust pipe.
it isa very possible that your tire kicked it up off of the road.
with all of the strands of metal it could have got caught under your car
    until it finally fell off.

I suppose that all depends on whether you maintain her car or not. :D
