Hey guys, I have a 15 DC. Should I remove the front mud flaps or trim them? If I should trim them, does anyone have a good way to do this? Thanks, Clayton

Most people take them off, or trim them. I have mine on for right now but will eventually take them off. Someone will chime in that has trimmed them though.

I replaced mine with the Husky mud flaps cause I was tired of listening to them flapping in the wind. The Husky flaps are shorter and don't make any noise.

Do they bolt right up and cover as much of the side of the fender flare as the OEM? Because I notice I have some paint wear from them moving so much.

I'm thinking of going this route and putting my others up on Ebay or craigslist. The front Husky's are significantly shorter. I think 3.5"? The backs are only .5" shorter than stock. They stick out a little more for larger tires too.

I have the Husky's too, they are stiffer and come with bolts to replace the plastic clips, and they are really pretty cheap. Most people on here are against mud flaps, but I like them on the wet gravel roads right now.

I wonder about this also, because my stock flaps have worn the paint under them unfortunately.

I've got 34k and mine have cut completely through the paint. I don't mind trimming my stockers, but if the huskys cover the same area, I may pull the trigger on them.

I trimmed mine. I took a piece of metal placed it behind and traced. (Could use cardboard) Cut out the pattern. The bottom is not as wide as the top. So figure out a measurement that you want draw a straight line. Then use the pattern for the curve just do one side at a time. I used sheet metal snips and worked out good. I trimmed the backs just above the 4x4 as it was warn and did the front to match. Didn't document it but I'll look and see if I got some pics.

I don't suggest anyone ever take them off. Looks better IMO but you will find rock chips in front of your rear fender behind the cab from the front ones being off. I would trim them as much as you have to.

If you do remove them at least put a clear chip guard along the side of the bed.

I replaced the 3 stocks that I had left for a full set of Huskys all the way around.

They wont move around if they are installed right, they fit pretty snug. The Huskys come with the hardware to screw them on. The factory flaps are held on by plastic retainer clips that allow them to move a little.

My truck was missing one when I bought it, and I bought the Huskys the first week I had it. I unfortunately dont remember how they compared size-wise.

Any pics? Did they cover the same area on the fenders as the stock?

The Husky flaps will cover up the marks in your paint from the stockers. They did on my 07 at least. Front only for me.

Take a Sharpie and a ruler. Measure from the ground up where you want to cut them, mark them, and then use quality kitchen scissors to cut them off.

You'll be really surprised at the results!
