Not sure what category this falls under but I stuck it on a '13 Taco so here goes...

It looks neat and feels good. I like to rest my hand on my shifter while driving. I don't really get to see the HURST script unless I'm in low gear which is pretty much never.

Aluminum Hurst T-Shifter. You can find them at the local auto parts store or the online retailers. The lowest price I found was Amazon. Coincidentally where I found the appropriate adapter too. The handle comes with a bag full of adapters but they're all too big for the Tacoma post.

The specific one for the Toyota is 153-0020:

    You'll also need this adapter:

I wasn't sold on this thing at first but I like it now. It's nice to rest my hand on and wrap my fingers around. Pretty sure it gave me a 14hp boost and 2 extra mpg.

I have always liked the Hurst T-Handle shifters.

Any more info on the adapter? Thread size, part number?

    Thank you.

I already bought the polished version of your shifter (153-0040) - my truck won't be here until the end of March!

I used to rock one of these on my old jeep wrangler and 89 toyota 4x4 and for a little bit in my 98 lowered Tacoma.

Ended up being to hot or cold to the touch depending on the weather and I got over it.

    Old Hurst T handle:
    IMG_1113_bcd74178fed52cb7217f07edbe924338ff5db94a.jpg

Also over time I wore off the clear coating and my hand always smelled like metal and it was very dingey looking.

I really like a simple weighted ball type and have been using this one on my last 2 Tacomas.

Tried this aluminum one from LCE.. hated it and went to the TRD leather one and love it.
    Old LCE one:

The shifter comes with a little tube of green lube. Make sure to lube the threads when adding the adapter.

It is quite cold in the morning but warms quickly if my hands stays on it. I'll toss a rag over it in the summer to keep from burning my hand.

Just put this one in my 2012. It's actually the exact fit (M8 x 1.25) so no adapter needed but it does come with a jam nut. Got it from a place called www.coreshifters.com . Had to pay up, about $48 but also didn't have to mess with adapters. Really like the look and feel of it.

I had one on my 4runner. It gets blazing hot in the GA summer heat just baking in your car. Yes you will need a rag for those hot days.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I’ve got the leather T handle for the winter and the aluminum one for the summer. Edit: Maybe I’ll try the pistol grip. Thanks for reminding me.
