BRZ is Modded Truck has white bed and Green body
Hey all, Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

    I am picking up a 1996 Toyota T100 ( not a Tacoma, I know!) from a co-worker for $50!!

Looking at the sale price it is quite obvious that there is something(s) wrong with the truck. To start, the cab is green and the bed is white. SO from a distance you can tell its been through a fair amount.

As for the engine, it has 140k on the clock, which for a Toyota is not much. It is equipped with the 2.7L 3RZFE, Which is the main reason I am hopping on this forum as well as a few others.

The engine overheated cause by a gunked radiator and a coolant leak. When the engine over heated, it melted all of the spark plugs and ignition wires together. As far as I know, as of now, this is all the truck needs.

I will be picking it up early next and tearing down the block to start. Worst case scenario, there is a scrap metal facility up the road, ill roll it down there, make a quick few hundred dollars, and buy myself more mods for the BRZ.

I have a 2014 Subara BRZ as my daily driver, which has seen over 25k miles in about 9 months of ownership. I am hoping to fix up the T100 and retire the BRZ from DD duties, and keep it for spirited drives and weekends.

My skills as a mechanic are pretty good. I have rebuilt a 1952 Jeep M38A1 and do most my own work on my vehicles of the past. I am just starting to dabble into the world of tuning and electronic engine management. Before the BRZ, everything I have worked on had a carb.

I will post up some pictures of the Truck when I get it. BUt for now, some BRZ teasers.

I have had the engine tuned, using an open software device, which can store 5 tunes at a time. Currently running E85 ethanol, with K & N drop in and a cat back exhaust, which puts me around 185 Rwhp (stock is ~165ish). I am awaiting a catless header, which with a retune will put down 215-220 Rwhp. At that point new wheels and tires will be needed :burnrubber:

I will most likely be doing more lurking than posting but wanted to say hi. I will post pictures of my engine mainly, and will try to log a tear down and rebuild with as many photos as I can.

I'm sure there is much more damage to the engine than just melted wires sadly.

Good score and once fixed it can be a great truck however that engine really is best suited in a small tacoma over the tundra sized T 100, since you got it for so cheap I would look into a 5vz transmission ecu and motor swap or a new 3rz and turbo it if you dont plan to use it on the streets.

Also is it an automatic or stick?

I'm hoping the block is in one piece and that there is minimal damage. What would be a common issue with this motor i might find.

And if i can find a turbo for cheap id be down. I am looking into Turbos for the BRZ and all said and done id be in for like $7,000.

I do have access to Mig and Tig welders so I could fab my own turbo I suppose
