Check out the e-prance on Amazon. I think I may go with this for ease of use and the price. The thing is also tiny which helps mer the need. It does not have the true 1080P. But does the resolution matter that much?

It seems like resolution doesn't matter too much until you want to read someone's license plate on the video. The only reason I wanted 1080 was so that in case there was a hit and run, I'd be able to track down whoever it was by their license plate.

I ordered a Mini 0806 from JooVuu. The 0806 is new on the market and JooVuu said they would ship all preorders on February 12, 2015.
I created an account and then ordered in mid-January, and paid via PayPal.
For the last several days, JooVuu's website has been down for "Maintenence" and there is not a record of my account, or my order.
I'm not saying (yet) that JooVuu is a rip off for your dash cam order, just beware of the outfit before you place an order https://www.joovuu.com/usa/

Just installed a BlackVue DR600GW-HD dash cam in the front and in a week if I like it I will put the second identical one in the Flippac facing to the rear. They offer a few more bells and whistles than many of the others out there, and to be honest some of them may be unnecessary but I kinda geeked out when making my purchase. Thankfully so far I'm happy as install and setup was a breeze.

The manufacturer provides a viewer application that allows you to see the telemetry data with the video which I'm having allot of fun with. It also allows you to make changes to camera settings and it's surprisingly simple to figure out and mess around with in the OS X version.

Ordered a pair of high capacity micro SD cards to keep around so that if when I am wheeling with friends I can easily set aside that days footage if I forget to bring something to copy the video files to.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
This is from my post over at Dash Cam Captures of Human Stupidity.

This is the camera I'm using:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P8F3LD0/

I have it connected to an aux fuse panel with this converter:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U2DGJOQ/

    For the install:

    I took off the caps
    [IMG]

Used a 10mm deep socket to remove the bolts
    [IMG]

Pull off the cover. And that's where I ran the wire. You'll notice it with the green zip tie.

    Here's the adapter I used
    [IMG]

I put the power cable across the top part of the carpet overhead and fed it to the middle opening. I connected that to the cam.

Again. This is running to an aux fuse panel that's in the engine bay with always on power.

What brand makes one that is shaped like a radar detector with the camera pointing out front and has a screen that can flip up when I don't want to use it

Has anyone tried a dashcam built into a replacement mirror? Some have backup cameras as well?

First, welcome to TacomaWorld. I've seen someone post recently in another thread that had installed a "Pyle" brand rear view mirror that had allot of tech in it. I can't recall which post it was but it should be relatively close to the end of the fast moving thread. Only problem with browsing that thread is it will give you heaps of ideas for other modifications and upgrades.

Installed pictures of my Blackvue DR600GW-HD to keep the thread moving. I had it unplugged as I was upgrading the firmware on the memory card.
