Hello Tacoma World! I've "returned" to the Tacoma recently with the purchase of a 2013 Standard cab/base 4x4. Previous Toyotas I've owned:

    1974 Land Cruiser
    1979 4x4 pickup
    1989 4x4 pickup
    1996 Tacoma 4x4
    2001 Tacoma 4x4 TRD x-cab

Still have the 1996 Tacoma in the family, sold it to my daughter for $1.00.

I have some mods planned for this little truck, but on to the subject at hand - Wheels.

I picked up a set of stock 2006 Tundra alloys and painted them with Duplicolor Graphite & satin clear. I painted the wheels months ago but they have been waiting for me to get around to mounting tires and installing them. The Tundra wheels have 4 5/8" backspacing vs the stock steelies at 5 1/4" so that combined with the change in tire size from 265/70R16 vs the stock 245/75R16 really changes the personality of the truck. Nice wheels for the low price and a little work.

I love it when you find a bargain that with a little work turns out that nice. They look great on the truck.

Nice looking wheels. I'm not quite sure why more people don't run these wheels, I think they look great. Maybe it is a scarcity thing being a two year only wheel, who knows. I have an identical set sitting on the shelf waiting for the same treatment. It is funny, even before seeing yours I had the same plans of painting them a charcoal color. Did you remove the logo on the center cap by cutting the "peened" studs off from the back or did you mask the logo off?

Thanks, i really like these wheels and i think they look great.

For the center cap emblem, I just masked off the chromed "T" symbol with some blue painters tape. It's raised with a recess around it so it couldn't be any easier. It was simple to trim the tape in the recessed area so it still has that shadow effect. It's been over a year now and the wheels still look great, I was concerned about the paint holding up but so far so good.

Just bought a set of these wheels a couple of days ago. The specs of these will be a good match for my 255 85 R16 KM2.

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
those rims are badass, are they a direct bolt on with no rubbing or backspacing type issues. I would love to land a set of them for my GEN2 SR5

Same bolt patern and hub bore size, same width however about 3/4" less backspacing. A good match from no lift to 3 " lifted Tacoma.

That slightly less backspacing just sets them out so your tread is flush on a 2nd Gen. I can’t remember if it’s 1/2” or 3/4” further out.

I just got mine put on today.

I like that these push the wheels and tires out farther. That looks so sweet, I might want to hunt down a set of these for my truck. Does anyone know the weight of the wheels?

Awesome so these are the same weight as the off road wheels they just have a better backspacing. If anyone has a set they are willing to let go let me know this is a great idea.

Yes, these along with other, older/similar vintage Toyota 6 lug wheels keep the wheels pushed out a bit. I like some newer Toyota 6 lugs wheels but don't want the decrease in track width on my 1st gen or 3rd gen 4Runner. I know, First-World problems...
