Looking for one of these possibly with navi. I'd like to stay under $750 if possible. If you have a 7" screen in your taco post a pic

    iPad mini - $250

    Dash kit - $295

Wiring - $80-$350 depending on options.

Having all of the functions of an iPad at your disposal in your truck - Priceless

Also, keep in mind, the display on an iPad is going to be 10x better and clearer than any radio.

I've always liked using Pioneer's touch screen head units. Great resolution, intuitive UI, and awesome sound shaping features

That's exactly what I use mine for and it works great. With the newer receivers you can run your Iphone's apps through the receiver...including navi apps. alleviates the need for a receiver with built in navi

What about the pioneer avic7000nex. Does it have capability to play music thru Bluetooth from your phone?

It has built in Bluetooth so it should work fine. I installed a lower model pioneer indash screen in my buddy's tundra and he uses Bluetooth to play music through it all the time.

Is there one that allows you to run your Android Apps through the receiver display?

Pioneer AVIC-D3, iPod Cable, Backup Camera, LEER Shell
Pioneer head units with AppPlay will work with Andriod phones.

I had a Pioneer AVIC D3 in my truck until some dirtbag stole it this last weekend. I used it for NAV, BT phone calls, SIRI, BT music and podcasts. Also have an iPod plugged into the console for music storage when out of network range. Touchscreen was ok, could have been more responsive.

There were some drawbacks, the GPS NAV on the head unit was clunky to setup and get going - I ended up using the google maps on my phone and playing the turn by turn through the stereo when I needed directions.

When you are in BT Audio Mode you can't listen to the radio or CDs, only BT sources of music from your phone. So if I was using the google maps I had to listen to audio from my phone or have no music.

I heavily relied on the head unit for backup camera capability which my '06 did not have. Really liked this feature.

I really want to upgrade to a unit that will work more seamlessly with apps on the phone. As an iPhone user that has me looking at head units with Apple CarPlay. That leaves me to choose between an Alpine or Pioneer.

Now to figure out how to secure the new system from the dirtbags...

I've been eyeballing the Pioneer AVH-x5600BHS. Has all the features mentioned in this thread for about $350

the ipad kit would blow away a Kenwood DNN992HD
I had the DNN991HD for a while, sold it for about 85% of what i bought it for... they hold their value pretty well as far as used crap.... i loved the navigation, the screen, and interface but its got nothing on a mini. prices are about the same, infact the ipad kit is a little cheaper and infinitely more capable.
