I've been drinking glenfarclas 12 a lot lately. It's reasonably priced and taste great.

I like Glennmorangie and McCallan 12, I didn't like JW Black at first but it's grown on me a bit. Right now having some Lismore, it's my new favorite.

I usually do 2-3 fingers with 1-2 cubes. I have some Whisky stones I use as well.

I've been drinking The Black Grouse lately. It's a more peaty blend of The Famous Grouse

It's a blended but it'll do.... The extra money that would've bought me single malt can be spent on other things.

Aberlour 12 is kind of my default.
But will have a dram of the higher end ones every now and then when I feel it's been worthy. Such as Ardbeg Uigedail or Ben Riach 12.

If you're a scotch, or even whisky in general, fan watch this guys video's... awesome. He started 6 years ago and has grown to being one of the highest regarded reviewers in Scotland.

I just purchased a Speyside 10 and have a bottle of Laphroaig 10 at home I'm excited to try.

My birthday was Tuesday, tonight we are having a "Bourbon and Bacon" party which turned into a "Whisky and Bacon" party. We'll have about 10-12 different appetizers with bacon and 12+ bottles of scotch and bourbon available to try. Should be about 17 people there.

For the guys who feel they are settling with blends, if you look you can find some high rated single malts for the same price and cheaper. The market is moving away from blends for the first time in a while more and more quality singles are coming out. Nothing wrong with a blend if that's your thing I just know that some people feel they have to settle for one.

Ralfy.com, Ralfystuff on youtube. He has reviewed over 500 whisky's.

He opened my eyes a bit to some of the higher quality lower priced Scotch.

I am a Laphroaig fan myself. Always have a bottle of 10 year around and sometimes an 18. If I really want smoke I go for Ardbeg. I started with Glenlivet and always have a bottle of that around as well. I typically drink it all neat.

If you're drinking Bourbon now, one day you'll grow to appreciate Scotch. It's a bummer the ol USA doesn't make some stricter rules regarding the distilling and bottling of Bourbon. The quality could be a lot better.

My go to is probably glenlivet 12, but if passing out to many others it can be a jw black. Special occasions out comes the JW blue, on my second bottle. If you know anyone going on a cruise, you can get JW blue for 125, as opposed to 250 in store. I have many other bottles, some bought, some as gifts, in the $50-$70 range like balvenie and such.

My wife is the big whiskey drinker. She prefers scotch and Irish, I go for a bourbon or a real peaty scotch like Ardbeg or Laphroiag. For our 10 year anniversary, my parents bought us this wonderful 25 Glenlivet. It's hard to see, but there is still about a hands width left in the bottle. It is soooo smooth.

Just saw it mentioned once to this point in the thread; Talisker is my fav - 10 year. Drinks like a much older scotch typically. I enjoy the smoke and peat - from the Isle of Skye.

I just have to learn to hide this from my neighbors!!
