Glad to hear you guys are alright, it looks like it could have been much worse. As far as the truck, I have rolled a few, even put one upside down in a canal when down in Florida, left it underwater for a day or two till we could roll it back and drag it out. . All we did was get them right side up, pull the plugs and turn it over to make sure we did not hydro-lock it. Changed the oil,Checked it over good for any obvious damage, and then started them up. Never had any problems doing that. Flipped two Bronco's over, one was the one in the canal, and when we tried to start them both had broken rotors, under the distributor cap. I don't imagine ignition systems even have them now, put new ones in and down the road they went. Good luck, and glad you are alright.

So far biggest problem is trying to get all the oil out of the cylinders. Once that's done I should be able to burn off what little is left. I'm hoping the little bit of oil in the vacuum lines won't affect anything. Oh well, biggest problem is the cold stop being so wintery winter!

So far I love my '14 so I am planning on keeping it for a long time. What have you guys done for rust prevention on the frame?

Nothing yet, I'm going to fluid film it or I just found out you can also use Thompsons water sealer!

I haven't looked under my truck yet this winter but I know it's covered in salt. I hope they solved the frame rusting issue

Yea the car wash is getting enough of my money this winter. It looks like you have a lot of dirt or sand frozen on there too.

Toyota is replacing my frame eventually. Still waiting on the new one to come in. So at least up to 2009 (I think, based on the CRC) they had not addressed frame rust.

We have two Tacoma's and were trying to decide what would be best for rust prevention up here. One is a 2007 that never had any treatment at all before we got it, lots of scale rust and looked bad. This one we treated with Fluid Film. Seems to do a good job, and holds up under washings much better than would be expected. The downside is I let my son help apply it, last June. Every time I go up or down an incline, the Film is still wet enough to run off and hit the exhaust somewhere, creating a heck of a smell. I picked up 6 cans for under 50.00 from Ebay, and this should do my truck 2 times. The other is a 2010 DCLB that came from down south, the underside of it looks as close to new as it could get. This one we took to Utica, and paid 139.00 to have the Krown franchise there service it. They did an excellent job, and were very thorough, I would recommend Jim to anyone, it was money well spent. They suggest you have this done on a yearly basis, and as cheap as it is I am most likely going to do it..at least for the first couple years. When it thaws out I will get under both of them and get some photo's and see how each has held up.

Go to the dealership! There is a Corrosive Rust Campaign going on for 05-09's. Have them undercoat it for you for free. :thumbsups: I took mine in for that and the replaced 2 fuel tank straps before telling me the frame needed to be replaced.

Not sure if they'll do anything with the fluid film on it, or the 10, but it's worth asking.

I was going to, but I believe my 2007 is borderline of enough rust to get a frame. I cancelled the appt. and am going to wait until we get closer to the end date to see if it fails, we have till March of 2016 to bring it in. If they deem it not needing a frame now, they will CRC treat it, and they are done with me, I have no further recourse as far as getting a replacement. I would rather see how it looks after another one of our fine winters before rolling the dice.
