Good that you're all fixed up OP. But unless I'm misunderstanding something, almost 80k miles between plug changes is probably a little long.

The rocker arm noise might be ghosting you,,because you want to hear that or expect that noise. Fresh new parts clicking away is definitely a different experience. So long as it doesn't get any louder,,run it a bit more. Still noisy after that?. Shoot some vid. If it lets loose or gets nasty,,kill the ign, but DON'T lock your steer wheel for marys sake.

Also, your at 150 miles?. You could pull a oil sample,,if your quick with the drain plug. Let loose about a quart in the clean pan, plug the hole, ,then roll the oil back and fourth and witness the results with a flashlight. It's a messy situation, but it gives a quick read on the pool of oil and settled stuff in the bottom of the pan right after a big fix if one is wondering.

Did you install the service bolt on the exhaust camshaft gear to hold the sub-gear in place when you removed it?

Did you check the valve clearances after you installed the new head?

The more I listen to it, the more normal it sounds. I guess I just need to get used to it again.

As far as oil goes, should I change it after a few hundred miles? I used to always run synthetic in it, and plan on going back to it soon but I put conventional in it for the initial top end break in period.

Here is a video. Like I said everything is good, no noise when motor is revved at all or while driving, no CELS, no missing, feels strong, oil is crystal clear clean. Let me know what you guys think.

It's a bit noisy from those sound angles. Audio can be deceiving. You might have a local tech's ear put on that just to double check. Check the dealership and see if a tech can do a walk out and listen. Or if you have a preferred mech buddy.

Have heard some really quiet ones,,like mine, to some that you would swear were going to collapse at any moment,,but yet they lived for many miles.

Thanks I will keep an eye on it, at about 500 miles I am going to change the oil and go back to synthetic which is what I have always put in it

With the hood down, its sounds just like it should - or at least what mine sounds like. With the hood up, it sounds a bit noisy, but I think its a function of the camera.

When I listen to my truck's engine with the hood up, it sounds about the same.

If it drives well and there are no issues, I wouldnt worry about it. Change the oil at 500 miles, and put a good quality oil in there and dont worry about it.
