Sorry this is kind of a long read but for anyone that's interested, here is a little online interview we did with Wild-Fields Sports Photography based out of Switzerland.

    http://wild-fields.com/2015/02/27/t...int-400-presented-by-general-tire-tpf-racing/

Pretty excited for the Mint and would like to say thanks to SDHQ for the great customer support they've provided us over the years, Matt and MCM Fab for building us such an awesome front kit, and Carlos at Camburg for his help in getting us squared away with a new rear end.

This will be race number 3 for us and the first time I've touched the truck myself since I parked it after last year's Mint. We're still sorting out some of the bugs a bit I think but hoping that this is the race we're able to put it all together and bring home a solid finish.

Will be out in Vegas all week for the race, please come and say hello if you see us around!

anyone else have issues with the lower uniball bolts on a total chaos kit? Its only on the passenger side, the bolt that goes through the lower uniball/spindle always comes loose. The passenger side loosened up on me again last weekend and snapped in half in a parking lot, replaced it with a new bolt, washer, and nut from total chaos and I looked at it again today and its loose. Meanwhile, drivers side hasent had an issue yet (knock on wood).

Hoping its just because the bolt is new this time, hopefully it wont keep happening

Yeah I've torqued it down to the right specs and for some reason its only passenger side, driver side has same hardware and hasnt moved sine I torqued it down when I had the front end taken apart last august. Passenger side gets tightened once a week at least. Im thinking about putting a second nut on the end of the bolt to be safe

I think I saw you, you were toward the end of the pits? I doubt it was another 4runner that looks exactly the same haha

Pretty fun out there! Brian "Desert guy" tore it up

Yeah sometimes I wish I left it how it was.
The new bumper is better for bushes and everything is more open to check and work on the suspension.

What kind of nut are you using? How are your spacers? No other damages to your kit? My Silverado had destroyed spacers so the nuts would get loose all the time, once I repaired the spindle, replaced the uniballs and spacers, along with new hardware the problem ended. I was using all metal fine thread lock nuts before but they were a pain to take off so I went with a nylon insert lock nut and it held up too. On none of my dad's race trucks nor on my tacoma have we had issues with hardware using all metal lock nuts properly tightened and retorqued before every race or big outing.

Brand new uniball replaced 15,000 miles ago as well as brand new misalignments and brand new bolt/nut straight from total chaos. Im hoping the new bolt/nut with make it stop this time, ill report back after I drive it around this week.

Alright I need some help with this steering it's driving me nuts. The play is internal to the rack.

How much play is acceptable internal to the rack? I can move the steering wheel a 1/2" in either direction (total one inch) with the truck parked and have no movement at the tie rod. Should I replace the rack or is that "within spec"?

I don't want to drop the coin and have it be the same with a new remanufactured unit.

I have a set of the energy suspension bushings for the rack on the way. I guess I'll try those first.

I'm a perfectionist and it handles worse than when I first LT'd it, so I'm chasing it down until it handles like that again.

It's "safe" and live able with now. It used to be a lot worse. It could be better.

It leaks a little. Have to add a little fluid once every six months or so. Not a big leak.

All I know is he has a prototype kit on his truck. I don't have any details on it.
