Hey you guys I'm new to the forums I have an 08 DCLB I am on my second, 2nd Gen Tacoma in 2 months. First one flipped and got totaled my second week having it. But on to my question...

I am a STREET ONLY guy. I don't do any off roading or racing. To and from work and home is as exciting as my exploits get. But I want to level out my truck for cosmetic reasons only. I really like the way Tacos look when the front in sits up a tad higher. With it being strictly cosmetic and me being poor, I am trying to do it the most cost effective way but I don't want to hurt my truck either. So I'm considering either getting 2 inch to 2.5 Inch Spacers.

I know I know how most feel about them I've been reading all these threads that bash Spacers and some that bash Differential Drops. But what I want to know is for a guy like me who doesnt put any stress on his truck outside of daily commute would spacers hurt my truck? And would doing a DD be harmful in any way?

I want your straight forward and honest answers no bias and don't sugarcoat. Thanks A lot.

Get bilstein 5100's and set them at .85
Good look and better than spacers and at only $160 not breaking the bank.
They are better than stock shocks too. The 2" spacer would probably put you a little too high anyway

Thanks a lot! If that's the consensus after a few posts I'm ordering my Spacers on EBay tonight.

No I don't do much towing now but that's some thing I might actually do. Why Airbags? I honestly don't know a whole lot about this stuff

Wow $160 isn't bad the lowest I saw was $220. Who has them go $160 and the thing is I am paying for the labor as I am not very mechanically inclined. And to install the spacers the guy is only charging me $130 and I'm pretty sure it would be a lot more for the Bilsteins

Pretty basic install and not much more than the spacers.

Check the vendor section on here. They are all pretty close but some do free shipping.

Now I'm leaning towards the Bilsteins but I have to wait for a reply on the Labor costs. But if I do go spacers I would like more feedback as far as what you guys think about them considering my use

You'd be fine on the road, no major issues as far as breaking shocks..
    Better ride with the 5100's.

I am thinking the labor on both will be about the same. If you get the shop to assemble your coils with the 5100's its a really easy install if you have any knowledge of tools at all.

Add 250-350 for labor for either spacers of 5100s if you can't do the work yourself. A few hours of labor plus an alignment need to be factored in to your budget.

"maybe a little more ? if I have to disassemble the struts"

That was his response regarding Labor. Will struts need to be Dissassembled for Billsteins?

Ok so he said it would be $200 labor of I do the Bilsteins that's an extra $100 vs the Spacers plus an additional $70 in Labor. Hmmmm.
