I have a 2001 Tacoma Double Cab 3.4 with automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive. Recently the #6 injector caught fire which melted some of the engine wiring. Luckily it appears that the heat shield on the engines wiring harness did its job because the wiring that was inside of the heat shield appears to be untouched.

    My questions are as follows:

#1 Should I replace the entire engine harness or just repairs the 2 plugs that are burnt.

#2 What is the sensor/plug that is to the left hand side of the fuel pressure regulator. It melted the plug for whatever that is.

#3 The plugs that are melted, does anybody know how I might go about buying them?

I would be looking for a wiring harness you can rob from and splice needed wire/connectors to yours. There is no joy in swapping out the whole harness plus you don't know what you may find will have trouble.
