im looking at this lift kit for my truck but it says its for single cab only is that correct or would be interchangeable with ext cab? thats what i have and the price is right. the only thing I dont like is it has 6 inch drop spacers instead of the drop spindles. I has the drop diff brackets. would this be an ok kit for around 700.. brand new?

Cant really answer your question but $700 for an ifs 6" kit is super cheap! The 6" fabtech is over 2 grand and its by no means a "quality" kit. So I'd rethink your strategie. I know the price is good but.... The drop spacers don't sound very good either...

When I bought my lift they wanted to know if it was a standard cab or another model. I don't know what would be different between the models as everything is basically identical on the suspension. Maybe with the non standard cab models there is another part in there like a carrier bearing drop or something. When I was searching for my lift a few places I called told me they weren't available for a reg cab. Couldn't figure out what the hell the deal was, turned out it was an insurance liability thing cause there was a rollover liability with a reg cab lifted 6", phfff what a joke! But in your situation idk why it would state reg cab only, don't make sence...

Ya know I never like to tell someone not to buy something because its cheap and "I wouldn't do it" Mostly cause everybody has different finances and different needs and wants. But in this case I really think you should go a different route. I bet that lift you're eyeballin is at least $$1400 cheaper than anything else on the market and I think 1400 is being conservative. That price difference should speak for itself...

yeah i been reading allot about lifts I think i'm just gonna do a 3 inch suspension and a 1 inch body.. I guess you don't gain anymore ground clearance with a 6 inch and id rather not make major frame modifications.

With a six inch bropbbarcket lift you certainly do gain ground clearance just not at the front end. The lift gives you the ability to run bigger tires which is really where your lift comes from. You gain the ability to not get high centered as easily and have better approach angles, but its the ruts that get you hung up on the front end with a drip bracket lift. I have two tacos one with the fabcrap 6" kit, there were NO frame modifications needed.

Why both with the 1" body lift? What is your end game here... 35s? 37s? What size tire are you wanting to run?

By "frame" he means the front crossmembers. They need to be modified or well... replaced.

My end plan is 33's with the potential of 35's I just want to make sure there isn't going to be rubbing issues. I don't really want to cut my truck all up to fit tires. Plus 35's could and most likely need regearing. I don't feel like doing all the work at the moment. So I figure a 3 inch with a one inch body should work for my needs. I don't want a three inch body as it's more unstable and have to make to many mods. 1 inch just goes right on and no crazy modifications hopefully.

Yeah, that's what I meant about the frame cutting was the crossmember.. Maybe in the future but right now it's a little much for me.

Stock suspension can fit 33"s with a BFH and about 5 minutes of your time, besides... you get to let out some anger :D

Wouldn't go with the drop spacer lift if your planning to do more than cruise the mall with this lift, they'll pre-load your shocks and they'll be blown out by easter. I got the Maxtrac 4 inch spindles, billy 5100 adjustables, total chaos UCA's and rough country AAL for just under 2K and with a little patience, some elbow grease and a few youtube videos, saved myself a lot of money.
