They are starting to realize that all the beach erosion and pumping sand back onto the beaches is doing harm to the reefs and such. A couple years ago I was talking with a guy, his family owned ocean front home in Jupiter. As a kid, he remembered waling out quite a ways from his backyard to hit the ocean. While talking to him, we were on his seawall, and the ocean was less than 100 feet from the home. Time to maybe let those that live there and don't want to share pay for the beach themselves, rather than have our taxes saving the beach we are not supposed to use according to the homeowners...

Aye and also they need to stop raking up all the sargasso (the yellowish brown seaweed) that always washes up, it helps to naturally lock the sand down but they keep tractoring it up anyway. Every time they pump that sand it screws up the breaks for years and the surfing sucks. Spanish River in Boca is a prime example, also the groins south of Charlies Crab in Palm beach :(

Honestly, the problem over there isn't even the people on the beach. Most of the residents there couldn't care about the surfers. Its the people that park on both sides of the narrow streets, walk blindly into traffic, stop randomly on the N Ocean Rd because they are sight seeing, and stuff like that. I know that there isn't really anywhere to park, but that doesn't mean that the residents should have to look for a way to get to their house because of the inconsiderate people that park wherever they see fit. Most of the roads on the island are not wide enough to accommodate two vehicles, so if you park on the street, no one can get by (ie law enforcement, fire rescue, etc...). Its the people that come to the beach and litter, and have no respect for the fact that there are people that live in the houses there and have to deal with that on a regular basis.

Maybe Dan, but it's not all that way. Yes the idiots do stop in the road, yes they do park wrong, they go slow, and the cyclists can be a pain or worse.

Well, Jeanne and I have cycled there for years. Most times NBD, but there are times, even in the bike lane at 20 + mph, locals feel the need to mouth off. Not often, but it does happen. And we are not even in a group.

We also sometimes take the metal detectors and hit various beaches. Always respectful, never littering and filling in any holes dug along the edge of the water. Some homeowners are cool some are not.

Honestly, I don't get to rev'd u[p over it. There are more idiots or even worse on the mainland.

Shit. Did you have the breather mod done? I believe that 4WD's need a diff & transfer case breather mod. Also, remove and reseal your ADD since they tend to allow water intrution also.

Hey bud, escorted home? Was that due to a curfew? Damn!

In 1993 I was trainig at the Tire Kingdom corp office (then in Riviera Beach) & I wanted to go shoot some pool so 3 conworkers & myself hop into my modified, 1969 350 powered, '81 Grand Prix and start looking for one.

I get pulled over because my exhaust was too loud & I looked suspicious (officers words). Well, I had flowmasters but with catalytic converters so it wasn't that loud. Plus, I was cruising at 30 MPH. He then "suggested" that I go back to my hotel. HAHA!
