Not happy with my soft rear end..

09 Taco. Access cab 4 banger 4x4. Had rear tsb done. Put Eibach 2" front leveling springs on. Front feels firm, back end now sits exactly level with front (I have a leer 180r canopy on, it weighs prob. 175lbs) When I hit a bump, the front end is firm and the backend cadilac soft. If I put a couple hundred pounds in the bed, I then have a sagging rear, which I just dont like. What is a good option to lift my rear a little and/or firm it up. Shocks? AAL (dont want to gain much height in the rear..) rear 1" blocks... Suggestions..

Aside from Gold's Gym... hit your dealer up for the TSB. Show them your 3 pack part numbers match the TSB for 05-08. Some will do it, if not it's documented, try another dealer, and work with corporate if all else fails.

 

I do have the rear TSB, the 4 leaf pack. and yellow/blue bilsteins. Had it done the first week I got the truck..

 

Damn, and you still think it's soft? AAL would be your cheapest route that would also do the job.

You got your easy answer (not like this topic ain't talked to death on every taco board). AAL or if you want REAL springs go with Dakars.

 

If I go with the toytech AAL, will I need longer shocks? I will have 5 total then in the pack.. 4+1=5 (Higher education kicking in)

I want more lift in the back, and have the rear tsb too. Wondering if I can just throw another leaf in there, or if I have to get a new set alltogether like the Dakars or something. Fatbobsgarage.com has aal's for our truck for CHEAP.

 

Supposedly if you have the rear TSB you have to get the addaleaf from toytec as the std one from say fat bobs wont fit

 

ah, okay- thanks. Did you go with the toytec aal? Damn it would be so easy, quick and cheap just to throw a spacer back there- I just really don't want to, considering it does NOTHING for load capacity..... I REALLY would like one of those adjustable air helper spring? kits. One that you can control from in the cab. That would be perfect! Expensive, but perfect.....

2 for offroad a flexible suspension is desired, that really does mean when you add a canopy and say 300 lb, it will feel soft. You could get Deaver springs or equal, they survey you for what is on it and how you use it. "I want to tow... then rock crawl on the week end" they really don't make a spring for that.... detachable sway bars or air bags could be the answer.

I was just checking out Hellwig helper leaves on their site.Pretty cheap bolt on.

 

If you want total control of the stiffness, add on airbags. I added them for towing and they are phenomenal. I also have a 3" AAL from toytec, which helped a ton but the airbags with compressor (controlled from inside the cab) means I can control the exact stiffness regardless of the load I have.

 

^^^what kinda air bag/compressor setup ya got? about how much it run ya?

 

1 inch spacer in the rear and install the Roadmaster kit. Worked for me.
