Hey guys first time posting. This site has answered lots of question for me as well as raising new ones. I am going to do the anytime locker on my 07 taco soon. I never thought about having a issue of accidentally hitting the switch but screwing up my axle would be a problem i don't want to deal with. Also i am a broke college student and i can't afford the repairs too. I want to use the stock locker toggle switch but add a kill switch(into the wiring) disconnecting the switch from the 4x4 ecu thus making any accidentally bump ok. I going to us the radioshack relay 2750218. What wires would I splice into to install my kill switch disconnecting the locker toggle switch? Would there be any problems?

Even if you do accidentally hit the button while driving down the road it still won't engage. You have to be stopped and in neutral even with the anytime mod. Stock it only works in 4-lo as I'm sure you are aware and if you hit the button nothing happens unless in 4-lo. With the anytime mod, wire a switch into it like most people do, mine is in my glove box, that way there isn't any ccidental engagement. I just stop with truck in neutral, hit the switch in my glove box, then push the stock locker button, back in drive and wah lah.

    stopped and in neutral ?

fwiw unmodded in 4lo you can hit it while in gear and it will lock no need to be in neutral...just under 5mph

are you saying the mod also engages a no-neutral lockout ?

I am pretty sure you have to have the truck in neutral to engage the locker, then drive forward a few feet for it to click in. When I did the mod, it is the same operation as far as engaging it but with my switch flicked I can engage it in 2wd, 4-hi or 4-lo.

Maybe you don't have to be in neutral, just going slow but I have always done it that way to be safe.

I use the locker 4 times a week and always hit it 20 feet before it is needed, while rolling....never needed to stop for it to 'kaChang!' pop in

It won't engage at speed... light just blinks when you press the button, and only goes solid when locked... and as stated, keep below 5 mph and no spinning tires to lock it. After it's locked, you are on your own to not be stupid and crash because steering is harder when locked.
