FFH and FFP are the differences.

I will double check mine when I get home to see if its compatible.

You need the axle code. It's listed on the door jam sticker that states GVWR/Tire sizes, etc... It'll be in the A/TM section.

In CA it is the sellers responsibility to get it smogged before selling. If he didnt and it won't pass smog you may have some legal recourse.

Also, i hope it wasnt one of those $14k gen 1 prerunners that are on craigslist right now. :D

He did smog it, but I asked him before hand if it passed legit or fake and he said legit. That's how I was able to get a couple hundred from him. But if I would have known that this axle isn't e locked, I would have (still might) drive it back and parked it on his coffee table. Lol

No, just 10k... Someone shoot me.

If someone is able to show me where the factory locker wires run, that would be awesome. I want to see if this is at least wired for it. I'm starting to think its not a TRD equipped model and just had parts added to make it look like one. But if it's pre wired I'll prob just end up buying a drum to drum rear end and swapping them. If it's not pre wired I'll just leave it alone and work on something else lol

Call a dealer with the Vin they can tell you what it was equipt with by the Vin. If they tell you they can't call another one. My wife works in customer service at a dealer.

I'm pretty sure the VIN does not indicate whether or not it was a TRD from the factory. The axle code doesn't either.

B03A means 4.10 gears, and open. There is no letter code for e-locker

You've been scammed. If he eliminated the cat, then he likely disabled the EGR (cheaters gonna cheat). I'd check that out. Disabling the EGR, unfortunately, is becoming more popular thing to do. In the old days, it made a difference, nowadays it does not.

Unfortunately I think your right.. I just didn't think someone would go as low as to even add a switch to fake a TRD.. Can't stand scum bags. He'll get his, karmas a B.

Okay, so at this point, it's either not a TRD and I'm only missing the rear end since its lifted and has the fender flares etc. OR it was a TRD and someone replaced the rear axle with an open rear. I'll have to dig around more for the e locker wires. I know they are in the dash, and there's even a fuse in the "4wd" spot.. But I don't see any wires anywhere around the rear end. But I've been at work and can't really get up in there.

The fuse is not related to the e-locker, it protects the circuitry for engaging/disengaging the front axle (ADD system). And you have a 2WD pre-runner, right?

Does the 'RR Diff Lock' switch illuminate at night?

Use a very small standard screw-driver to pop out that 'RR Diff Lock' switch, and check for wires attached to it.

    Yes I have a 2wd Prerunner.
    No, the switch doesn't luminate.
I have popped the switch and there is a harness attached to it.

This sucks. Normally the "TRD" scam just involves bedside decals. The seller took it one step further.

    Sorry OP.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Let's make sure it's actually a pre-runner too. Knowing all of the other shady stuff, he could have thrown on flares and a lift.

Do you have 5 or 6 lugs? :D
