yeah, the thread part is 3/8" thick, but there's something wrong with the taper of the thread or something because it won't thread in there.

That's weird, like you said must be a different taper. I'm assuming you Teflon taped the threads?

yeah....that helped a lot....and would have saved me hours today running around thinking it didn't fit. just had to man up and tighten it a little bit and it worked. i'm just too afraid of breaking things. i shouldn't worry so much.

If you use a stainless fitting, use thread tape. If you use brass it is unnecessary. The tapered thread helps it seal.

NPT threads are measure by the internal diameter of the standard fitting (high pressure fittings will have a smaller ID though)

How do you get to the trailhead to buffalo mine? I'm working today but might try to leave early. I hurt my back and I'm a slug today anyway, so I might as well go for a drive, right...?

I'm pretty sure you take the highway through Palmer and then the road will be marked on your left before Sutton from what I understand. Google maps it I'd say

It's 7 or 8 miles out side of Palmer, on you're left, follow the road till it turns to dirt, then it will be the 3rd trail on you're left. Next to the big birth tree. That's the main trail that takes you up top.

So that whole not being able to shift out of park etc, etc was a blown fuse. "IG1" 10 amp fuse blew right as we got off the trail...airbag warning, had to use shift override to get into drive, no blinkers or drl or air conditioner (wtf??!) then right before i turned into the neighborhood my check engine light came on. got everything else fixed except the check engine light...dunno what that's for. have to wait til tomorrow since everyone with a reader is closed for the day. must have got something wet that didn't like it or something.
