Top Truck Challenge 2013
Get your copy of Four Wheeler Magazine so you can vote to see All-Pro Off Road’s Jon Bundrant compete in his ’98 Tacoma “Lil Blackie” in the 2013 Top Truck Challenge (TTC).
Jon is one of 42 candidates up for 10 spots in this year’s TTC. According to Four Wheeler, “TTC is one of the most unique and challenging off-road competitions in the world.” This is the 21st year of the competition, held at the Hollister Hills SVRA near Hollister, CA. The week long competition puts both driver and machine to the test in a variety of events, including the Coal Chute, Tow Test, Frame Twister, Mud Pit, Obstacle Course, Hill Climb, and Tank Trap.
With numerous rock crawling titles, Jon is no stranger to competitions, but the TTC will be extra challenging this year since one of the new requirements state that the vehicles must resemble a mass-produced 4x4, so no tube buggies. Jon’s ’98 Tacoma runs the stock frame and cab, but has been converted to a Solid Axle front end using All-Pro’s Taco Supreme SAS kit, and now boasts a custom tube bed and exo-cage. If selected to compete in the TTC, the 4-cylinder motor would likely be replaced with a LS3 V-8 to give it some much needed power. With your vote, we’d also like to hear what you’d like to see as we finalize this build.
To vote, you must vote using the Official 2013 Top Truck Challenge Ballot found inside Four Wheeler Magazine, mailing to the address listed. Ballots must be received by March 30, 2013.
