I read on your website that it was adjustable at the time of welding, but I have neither skill nor tools so thanks for letting me know you could weld at various heights before shipping. As mentioned, part of the reason for wanting to get it in the garage is to hoist it up to the ceiling so we have somewhere to store it (space is precious).

As far as just getting it of, my wife is all of 5'2" so I don't think she would be much help. ;)

Marc, great pic! If you don't mind, what suspension do you have on the rear?

Hey gravedgr, I too had concerns about fitting in the garage... My garage door is 82" at its lowest. and I clear it by about 1.5 inches haha (this really depends on your suspension and tires though..). I've got the all-pro expedition leafs with the Pelfreybilt shock relocation kit and 265/75/16 tires, so if you had that same setup (leafs and tires, shock setup wont change height) youd likely be a similar height. I had my weld together rack built to 13" above the bed rails which if I remember right is about as low as you can go with the AP rack. AP shipped via fastenal and it worked out well for me since I don't have a welder either.

I did just get 285/75/16 tires and now i'm pretty sure i wont be fitting in the garage :pout: my cb antenna clips the door and it never did before... Oh well, price to pay for bigger tarrrs! Hope this helps! You can always check out my build thread for more info, link to it is in my sig below.

Thanks, Marc, that helps. If/when we get the truck I'll measure stock clearance and go from there. I suppose we could air down to about 10 lbs to get in/out of the garage with the RTT on.

    :jellydance:

We were expecting to do a 3" lift, but not sure about wheels and tires yet. Can you easily detach the ladder to lower the highest point, and reattach after you're out, without much difficulty?

Have you ever had someone make a canvas cover for this? Like a bestop, but this would be way more awesome and sturdy. I want one!

    Sooooooon.

Thanks Dondy52! We are so excited about our new Aluminum line of products rolling out!

I know right! We sent a PackRack to Killer Toy Tops to start the process of getting a canvas cover option. These are still in the early stages though of R&D. With the PackRack's ability to be a custom height it makes it very difficult to create a "off-the-shelf" canvas top that will work for everyone. This is absolutely something we are working towards offering though :D

I would definitely be in for a canvas top. Would make it so much more functional. Just been too lazy to work one out on my own

I've got a guy who does boat canvases...Since I'm in a sailing town, that's not too hard to find. I am interested in getting one and possibly developing a canvas addition to it. PM me if you're interested in seeing what we can come up with over here.

What's the height on yours? I like this better. It sits lower than the ones they have pictured that sits more flushed to the roof line.

Just about to order a pack rack when I saw about the aluminum version. I'm really interested but how much for shipping to Calgary, Canada?

Also, I'm curious about the dimensions. Not so much the height but the length and width at the top of the frame.

shootz! I'm really on the fence about the price difference for aluminum. If I wasn't doing a bunch of other upgrades at the same time then it would be a no brainer for me. Let my get my thinking grenades...

We will get with our sales team to get you a quote asap along with the dimensions. Thanks for your interest!

We totally understand! We have learned that if you want one thing don't settle for another - you will just end up replacing it.

Just something to keep in mind during your decision making process:
As of right now we don't have an accessory bar option for the Aluminum series so anything you want to mount on the sides (like shovel, hi-lift etc) you will need some custom mounts like FourTreks. We are working on some other custom options for mounting these to the Aluminum though :D

Any possibility of making one fit over a softopper? Would be really interested in something like that.
