    NEW PRODUCT IN DEVELOPMENT!

We are excited to release a teaser photo of another one of our latest product developments!
05+ Tacoma Rear Bumper with Swing Away Tire Carrier

We have had so many requests to offer a swing away rear bumper and we were so excited to finally be able to get the R&D process started!

We want to here from you now!
Give us your feedback, wants and needs!

Here is where we are at so far in the process:

    · Base bumper available without swing-outs allowing for expansion
    · Interchangeable accessory racks (side-side) and they are also removable leaving just the lower swings in place.
    · Quick-Fist wheel Insert designed for shovel/axe or Rotopax mounts. Mountable in 90deg rotation.
    · Maintenance free bearing assemblies.
    · Swing’s lock open/shut and will not close/open unless manually made to do so.
    · Camping gear and other accessories to come.

My lord, why are you doing this to me. Ok wait until I have enough money saved for your Aluminum bumper with full hoops, than I will move on to this rear bumper in aluminum as well. In all seriousness I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Spot on so far.

Good call, this will not be easy but we will definitely keep this in mind when going through the R&D process. Great idea and thank you!

For the tailgate camera if you could add an extension to the connector so that you could back feed it out of the tailgate then from the back side of the bumper along the swing out. By the looks on the picture it looks like the center of the tire will be where the camera was so then you could mount the camera so that it swings out with the tire. Pretty much the only reason why I havent bought a swing out tire bumper cause it will always block the camera which actually helps on trails

Awesome! SUB'd. That looks great so far. Here's my 2nd gen Tacoma rear bumper feature wishlist. Listed in priority order, but not necessarily realistic. Ha!

Granted, I fully understand that any one product cannot be everything to everybody. In many cases adding more "features" can take away form a products ability to be successful.

    - Optional upgrade: Rear back up camera relocation. (I will never give up my rear camera, this is a must. This single feature could differentiate AP from the competition. Please consider this seriously.)

    - Off-road / high clearance class IV receiver & 7-pin relocation: I'd love to retain my factory towing capabilities but in a off road / high clearance set up. Standard hitch is great but drags on everything. Goal is to pull a lightweight pop-up camper or a off-road trailer such as a MORV with a RTT.

    - hi-lift jack mounting position

    - hi-lift / jack & recovery points built into the bumper.

    - Maxtrax mounting point options

    - high clearance version: After this product is launched I'd wager a high clearance version could be in the works shortly after. If you can I'd recommend co-developing both versions at the same time.

Good luck with the development & launch of your new project!

    Cheers,

    Salt

Awesome! Thanks for the detailed list, this really helps us!

This will not work as a retrofit option. These Swing Away bumpers have a longer extension to allow for the Swing Away mounting and are also a lot stronger in order to hold the added weight when loaded.

Happy to help, thanks for giving us a chance to speak up. I neglected to include a few things / features.

Upgrade option: Fold down camp table.

If would be great to have a stainless steel fold down camp table option. However this does pose some questions about running a camp stove within inches of auxiliary fuel containers. Obviously need to be smart about that.
    Universal mount:
As shown in the current rendering you're already considering a semi-universal mount for the jerry can / rotopax accessories. It could be interesting to design this interface so that down the road other accessories could be offered. Such as a dust & water proof aluminum storage case, or a propane canister mount, etc. This interface could also be designed in such a way that these accessory mounts (jerry cans/rotopax/propane holders/etc) could be shared across several different future bumpers. SKU management 101: create fewer SKU's that work together serving a larger customer base. Build less, sell more.

    Good luck,

    Salt
