Yep, Demello's wrap around plate bumpers are sick, but I dont want to cut into the bedsides on a 2 yr old $30,000 truck to put one on. I want a replacement plate bumper, with possibility to do rocker protection later on.

Nice
Would be great if these were modular, as they look, so you could add either rocker protection at a later date. Ready to order if the price is right!

Prototype Pictures!
Hey Tacoma World!
Thanks for all the interest in our new plate style bumper! Here's the pictures everyone has been waiting for: Keep in mind this is the first prototype, just tack welded together. We'd like to know what everyone thinks. Without optional wrap-around side pieces: ![]() With optional wrap-around side pieces: ![]() Our existing high clearance receiver hitch is compatible with this bumper. The factory license plate lights will not work, but we're looking into other options. As I get more details I'll post them. |

Do the side extensions tie back into the frame? From that picture the steel looks pretty thin, hows it hold up to drops and backing into things?

Oh snap! Some pics finally! I want one..... with the sheet metal wrap. How thick is that steel though? It looks thin in the pics.... or is that just for the prototype so it costs less in case you want to make changes and such?

You mean for the wrap arounds? To my knowledge it simply goes on the outside of the rocker panel there and you dont have to cut it......

I don't really dig that huge gap under the tail light that much, if they can fix that then it would be great. Other then that that looks like a great looking bumper...

Regarding the gap under the tail lights, it is necessary to have a gap so when the truck flexes it won't make contact. You'll notice even the stock bumpers have a gap, yet some people still pop out the tail lights. We'll test the flex and see if the gap can be closed up some.
The wrap around does tie back into the frame mounts, as seen on the drawings. The prototype bumper is made from 11 gauge (1/8") with 1/4" mounting brackets. |

some of you are being way to picky about the gap under the lights, they built it like that so if you ever do come down on the bumper you would not damage the tail lights as well. besides i believe the stock rear leaves a pretty decent gap under there anyway.
Here is my conclusion, On the factory rear there are already installed black filler pieces between the bumper and the lights, because this All Pro truck had their original (tube style) version installed the filler pieces were removed thus making the gap stand out more. |
