Johnson Valley, CA, is infamous for its rock crawling trails, collectively known as "The Hammers." The 7th Griffin King of the Hammers race (aka KOH) was held Feb 3-8, 2013. KOH is dubbed "the ultimate desert race" for a reason, with 185 miles of grueling terrain, taking nearly 7 1/2 hours for the winner, Randy Slawson, to complete the race, with Shannon Campbell coming in second shortly after. All-Pro's owner, Jon Bundrant, graciously hosted the Campbell racing team at his cabin for the week.

After the race, the trails opened up for runs. We headed to the lakebed Saturday morning to meet up with So Cal TTORA, but never found the group, so we ran Lower Big Johnson and Claw Hammer. Jon Bundrant had his Solid Axle Swapped '98 Tacoma "Lil Blackie" out at the Hammers trails for the first time, followed by Bob Bindles, in his well-equipped FJ-40 Landcruiser. Jon's Tacoma was used to re-vamp All-Pro's Taco Supreme SAS Kit, and now he's putting it to the test! Look for the complete kit to be released soon.
