Can anyone recommend any websites, texts, etc. detailing how to make an ATV, four-wheeler, or go-cart street legal for Virginia and for North Carolina? I have seen one or two around town here, and in Beech Mountain.

I am trying to figure out if it would be cost-effective to convert one in order capture the 45% of mileage that is, on average, driven in town. This would make the truck last longer and save gas.

Finally, have any of you had experience doing the same? Thanks for your help in this matter.

Dirtwheels magazine has done a couple articles on that, seems like a pretty cool idea. you could look in the archives on dirtwheelsmag.com
