i've been looking at atv's for awhile and came across this deal. 2 2008 yamaha big bear 400's 4x4. The guy was asking $7800 and is firm at 7K. He bought them brand new in 2008 title and bill of sale in hand. all stock, except one has a new carberateur. they run just fine. I ran them from a cold start. 4x4 and lock dif work. about 500 miles on each. original rubber with plenty tread left.

They seam damn near mint. except the normal wear and and tear marks.

What do you guys think? Good Deal? Great Deal? just lookin for opinions.

What does a new one go for? Sounds good, but I'd look around price any similar that I could find and see what a new one runs.

A 2012 MSRP is $6,599. I haven't seen any other ones of this kind for sale, which is normally a good sign.

I think you are looking at a pretty good deal at 3500 each. The new ones have the EPS which drives the price up a bit. The 400 is the most popular Yamaha 4 wheeler ever built and you will not be sorry.

Just an update if anybody cares. I got them and am hoping i didn't just buy two lemons. The one with the new carb hesitates when gunned. I felt it when i bought them but figured it was just old gas and they were sitting for awhile. But it still doing it with fresh gas and ran it for a day straight. The other one is showing signs of faintly leaking gas out of the original carb. I'm hoping it is just a seal. Time to start reading up on taking apart carbs.

besides these carb issues the bikes run fine and are pretty rugged.
