Mikuni Carb on my old school LT125 Quad

    Hey guys,

    Just looking for direction on what to check for. I have a mint 1986 LT125 Quadrunner I use for fun with my kids. Out of nowhere, it started pissing fuel out of the overflow line on the bottom of the carb.

    This is a small Mikuni carb. Could it be float related, or that little pin that the float is supposed to open and close?

    Sorry for the non-technical information...

    Just looking for somewhere to start checking. My kids are going to be crushed if Dad can't get it going soon.

    tacoftw 5100s are the same price as spacers, seriously

    Sounds like an issue with the float. My 88 quad racer 250 did the same thing before I sold it

    Your best bet with carbs is to just rebuild the whole thing. Rebuild kits run ~$20 and it will run better than it has in a long time

    Sounds like the floats have sprung a leak........if a float fills up with fuel, then it sinks, and the needle valve opens, allowing excess fuel into the bowl.......causing the excess fuel to flow out the overflow

    simply rebuilding the carb....wont fix this issue

    You will most likely need a new float.

    When you remove the float (to rebuild carb) shake the float around in your hands, and see if you can feel fuel/liquid inside the floats.......if so.....you need new float too.


    Most mikuni carbs on small 125's are the same, and have interchangeable parts like floats.
