I'm looking to buy a utility trailer to haul ATVs and was wondering what size I should get. I'd like to be able to get 3 utility ATVs on the trailer (sideways). Since each 4 wheeler is about 48" wide, I was thinking about a 6.5' x 12' trailer, and load the four wheelers from the side over the rails. Does anyone else have any suggestions on hauling 3 at a time? Better yet, any pics?
    THanks

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You would be better with a 14' or 16'.

This is a 16' car hauler with 2 adult quads and 3 kid quads and room for gear. I have had multiple quads and setups.

My experience says - Go as big as you can afford.

They are a pain to load from the side or even turn around once on the trailer. Get ramps so you drive straight in and unload straight out. If you have to pick them up or horse them around someone will eventually get hurt and it takes the fun out of the trip.

Thanks. I figured that the bigger, the better, just didn't want anything bigger than I needed, as I'll have to keep it parked here at the house. Do you pull that car hauler setup with your Taco? If so, how well does it pull it?

I pull it with my Taco, the one pictured here, it can tow up to 6,500 pounds. I guess I am below 3,500 pounds loaded. My Taco came with a towing package and a 7-pin plug. The car hauler comes with a trailer brake setup and so I installed a basic brake controller, $60. The Taco has plenty of power to pull the setup through the Hill Country but I get 13 -14 mpg when towing. The brakes definitely help I don't tow this much weight without brakes.

The biggest issue is the width of a car hauler versus a regular utility trailer. The fenders stick out one extra tire width on each side.

I'd say definately go with a 14-16ft at least. I've towed a 6.5x12ft trailer with 3 quads a couple times, I don't have the tow package and it handles just fine, but the mpg drops.

I got a YFZ, LTR and a Z400 on the 12ft trailer without a problem, but I couldn't get the YFZ and 2 LTR's on it, had to propped one up on the front rails and strap it down....wasn't pretty but had to do it.

This is the only pic I have....
