fitting 2 bikes

i was wondering if i could fit both my CRF250X and 450X in the back of my double cab taco. I just have the regular bed. Also would the factory hooks on the side of the bed be strong enough to hold them down?

I towed around 2 bikes. I didnt really trust it a whole hell of a lot, but it got the job done.

You won't have any trouble. I regulary carry a CRF250R and KX250 and all our gear in the bed of my dble cab Taco. ...and then add the camper trailer for long weekends!

You don't need to add any more hooks - two cam-lock style tie downs on each set of bike handle bars to the hooks in the front of the box will easily hold everything. ...make sure loose gear can't slide out the back though.

 

I added a extra D bolt in the center of my two bikes up front and use a tailgate extender works great.

 

Man those corner brackets are sweet! I wanted to do the front d-ring mod for my CBR but that's too low.. the strap would pull down too hard on the plastic upper fairing. those are high enough to go straight from the handlebar to the bracket without rubbing on plastic. that does seem like a fairly steep price for that but sure would save some headaches.

 

Ive never had a problem hauling my Crf 250 and my buddies yzf250 still using the rail system, they flex sometimes but no biggie. Tailgate seems to handle it fine.

 

I have 2 Boss motorcycle chocks set up in mine, I wouldn't trust the factory side hooks to secure bikes, I added 2 extra d-rings in the front, no more worries....

 

Hey Canadian Max, can we get a close up shot of the wheel chock set up in the bed of your truck? Are they attached to a piece of plywood and set in when you need to haul the bikes?

I have a bed bar installed in my truck with three built in wheel chocks and tie down rings. Here's a couple of shots...

i built my own tie down bar, sold it to a member on here not long ago

 

2 bikes is really easy, you can fit 3 if you want, 2 forward 1 backwards

 

At least this thread is about transporting dirt bikes. Sport bikes unless they are track bikes in the back of a truck just kills me. It's amazing how many people drive around with sport bikes in the back just to pose.
