Ok, back on track with AZ registration since this is in the AZ regional section and we all know how bad we get raped on tags...

My '06 4x4 SR5 was $210 this year, down from $280 last year.

Here's my argument... I'd rather pay higher tags than have to deal with all of the rust that comes with living in about 90% of the rest of the US. Have your cheap tags and I'll keep the high resale in my truck.

When I moved to Phoenix in 90 with an 89 Camry wagon, they wanted over $400 (more than a car payment) to register. Blew me away - in TN where I came from it had been $30. AZ based it on the make, model and year of car. God help you if you had a Porsche or something - the registration plus insurance (which is unbelievably high too) would have meant you were either a surgeon or a drug dealer, no inbetween.
