Went to the mountains

Drove up north on the rim to hit my gold mine of a fishing spot. Easily the most beautiful place in Az in my eyes...Long drive in and we parked up high on a ridge and then grabbed our packs and hiked down the ridge to the creek bottom and out to the river, eventually loosing about 1500 ft in elevation. Once at the river we crossed and headed down river about a mile or so until we found a place to pitch camp that also had easy access to the river. Great fishing, I'd say that over the 4 days we were out there I easily caught close to 80+ fish. Mostly rainbow and some browns, probably close to 30 or so small mouth. Did not see another soul the entire time we were out there. Saw plenty of white tail and heard some large bull elk bugling. Also ran into 2 black bears, a momma and a cub but they just looked at me for a few seconds and then walked back over the bank and scurried up the ridge.

Thanks....any az guys ever want to get out and do some fishing in this area just let me know. Wont be able to make it into this area after mid to late november.

Great pics! I'm not much of a fisherman but I'd love to hunt that field for coyotes.

 

Yea not sure what kind of rattler it was, he was just a baby and his rattle tail made no noise at all.
