I like the time method. On a strait highway going 60mph, time yourself from the start of one mile marker to the next. It should take you 60 seconds. If its faster or slower, do the math and calculate the speed percent difference. Then add that to the gauge. After the adjustment, double check your gauge with a GPS speedometer.

    :pout:

I read the manual, looks like you have to make adjustments when filing up as well

those are easy, it guesses how many gallons it took to fill and then you just correct it. After the 5th fillup it will estimate it pretty close and wont need adjustment

another easy way to calibrate the speedometer is by driving ten miles (based on mile markers, not your tacometer) on a strait road with no hills and then check your Scanguage trip distance. If it also states 10 miles then its good. Since you have larger than stock tires, it might read that you only traveled 9 miles on the scanguage. You will then have to calibrate it to add 9% correction for your tire size

    Exactly.

So opinions, do I cut up taco, or buy a 85? Rebuilt an 85 solid axle front end, they just make sense compared to its.

Could l taco for enough to build toy, or keep and make toy.

Also its now known as the rice toy.

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up just getting 2 12mm bolts with washers and a wing nut and its holding perfectly fine. Finishing the mount today. Had to file down the tops of them a little to get them to fit but now they're good.

Then have to take the Taco in for some exhaust work.. The previous owner had a custom exhaust installed improperly and they put the mufflers on sideways which caused water to leak into the pipes and caused them to rust out. Luckily we got the dealer under contract to fix anything wrong with the truck when we bought it :D

Took some pictures of the exhaust that is being fixed later while I waited for my spray paint to dry from my fishing pole mount.

Just as you see this picture you're like oh damn..

    Also rusted inside

Then you move underneath and see that there is almost a hole all the way through..

And all of this was caused by improper install which caused the water to go through the pipes instead of out of the muffler because they were installed vertically instead of horizontally. and so the hole in the muffler is not at the bottom but rather half way up.

Dang good thing its being paid for by the dealer.. :D
