Lol, I found that same link as well.. I'm still searching.

 

It is on the passenger side just inside of the inner fender. If you pull the little covers that go between the inner fender and frame you should see a little rubber tube coming out of the firewall.

 

Dumb question but where does condensation come from that winds up in the evaporator drain?

 

Moisture in the air

 

It builds up on your evaporator when your ac is on.

 

Gives it that gross smell. Thats why I turn off my ac when I turn off the truck.

 

Have you looked at this one at all? I really like the Pioneer Dvd HU's, I put the AVH - X3500BHS in the wifes 4-Runner. But This one looks like the sound quality would kick ass.

It will build up over time even though turning off your ac before turning your truck off. I always turn off my ac a minute or two before turning the truck off and the smell is still in my truck and I have 118k on my truck.

 

Just wanted to share this, were setup out at the Texas Raptor Run. Bringin it SDHQ Style. We bring the same trailer to every race with parts and supplies for any need.

I have that smell too but I never leave the AC on.. Big Two said (this cracked me up) "it's from using the recycle button for the A/C too much".

Lets see.. I get in, turn on ac, leave recycle off till the air gets cool, then it gets turned on.. I turn off the truck, ac and recycle gets turned off as well.

Oh and its not covered by the warranty.

And thanks Jason for the pic! I'm going to try and get to that this weekend. I've read a few posts that it gets clogged and can cause issues.

 

I have a few ac bombs to fix that smell.its caused by moisture collecting in the hvac housing and getting moldy. Usually u should turn off record 5-10 minutes before shutting the car off to avoid this. But if u guys want i can hook ya up with some smelly good ac stuff

 

I was there on Monday and talked with Jason H and spoke to him again yesterday and built up a price list. I was blown away by the honest approach you all have. He made recommendations based on what I want to accomplish and ended up saving me some $$. In turn it just means that im going to spend the money saved on one part for a full set of tires from you guys instead.

Another TW Member and I will probably be down on Monday to talk some more. He has a 2013 and needs that kind of advice as well. I am so glad I came across SDHQ on a detour on my way home.

 

Let me know how much. Toyota wanted WAY too much to 'fix' this issue so I'll take you up on that offer.. I stil need to check the drain to make sure its not clogged.

My mom (05Taco) and my dad (08Taco) never once turned the recycler off and they have never once had this smell. Mine started to smell about a month after I owned it.

I got like 10 cans.used car guys give em to me lol. When and where ladies
