Got two things from the REI Garage Sale Yesterday. Had a tent too but I'd rather buy new and its something I didn't really need.

Got this: for $25. Basically brand new broke zipper on a non useful pocket



Then got this for $7
Brand new the reason for return was it got too hot

 

Hey guys it's Andrew. I I ran into a problem and need some help. I while disconnecting the battery the wrench slipped out and made a direct contact with the positive terminal. Battery fucked! But anyway I have a new one and I have power etc. I and we hear the starter in gaging but engine doesn't turn over. Any thought would be help ful

 

Disregard. Stupidity fixed.

 

What did you do to fix it?

So... thinking this weekend it's time to install my airbumps and rear shocks.... muhahahhaha

Well Andrew accidentally let go of the ratchet while removing the negative terminal of the battery. Just so happens that it's in the perfect spot to lay the ratchet across the positive and negative terminals. Battery drained. We swapped my battery in and go to start the truck with no luck. All the electrical systems work but the engine won't turn over. After much cussing and head scratching Andrew realized that we had only reconnected half of the positive terminal wires. We were trying to fix stupid with stupid.
Anyways here's a couple pics of a partially melted terminal and the ratchet it was trying to fuse to.

 

It's very difficult to melt tool steel to lead, but kudos for a good try!

Very lucky, I have seen batterys explode when direct shorted.
Battery acid all over everything very bad.

 

I just want to know why the ratchet was on the battery lug??

 

Disconnecting negative terminal. Slipped from his hand and laid across the positive terminal.

 

I assume he is fired from battery removal. And now he only gets wrenches?

 

Indeed. He demoted himself and asked me to only let him use wrenches near batteries. I will gladly oblige.

 

Yep trying to fix stupid with stupid while drinking beers in the heat.. and yep fired myself from using ratchets with the battery. I have always only used wrenches mainly cause of this situation happening. Well im an idiot haha but we got it all solved. Chargex the battery for a coue min. Then but it back in the truck it took the charge and all is good. This is why i have 2 tacomas. So i can practice on my wifes before i do things to mine.
