I have gone through 5 Toyota batteries in 8 years. The longest one lasted was just over two years. The shortest one lasted was under a year. My current battery has been on for almost 2 years. Only paid for a battery once and that was half price because it was just over 2 years old. The rest have been free. Toyota batteries suck, but I'll use it until I have to pay for a battery.

 

If you had gone to Toyota to get it warrantied, you would have paid half price.
0-2 is free replacement.
2-4 years is half price replacement cost.

 

I'm not going to plastidip. I'm fine with the style of wheels. I just want them black.

 

plastidip is pretty durable.. ive had my lower valence dipped for 3 years now.. and i dip the rings on my wheels.. and they hold up. only needed to respray them once when i got a gouge in one from wheeling.. if they were painted or powdercoated.. it would have been Effed.. but..with the derp.. it fills in the gouge and looks good as new.

Wrong info here. The factory battery is covered 100% for 3 years or 36k miles. After that it is 100% customer pay. If ever the battery is replaced with a Toyota true start battery then is when the 84month prorated battery comes into play. It is 100% covered for the first 2years. 50% covered for the second 2years. Then 25% covered until the remainder of the 84 months.

 

I was talking about the battery itself, not factory warranty for the truck. I should know as I have had my battery replaced 5 times in 8 years of owning my taco. I have never paid full price for a battery. I have had 4 free and a 1/2 on one.

 

So was I. The oem battery falls under the 3year 36k mile bumper to bumper warranty. That's it, No prorate on the ORIGINAL battery. Once a Toyota oem battery is replace whether it is by warranty or customer pay with a Toyota true start battery it is then covered by the 84month prorated warranty. The original

 

That sucks. My battery lasted almost 6 years. So I bought the same battery to replace it.

 

Just got 285/75r16s put on today and boy they sure rub the mudflaps like crazy. Gonna trim tomorrow morning hopefully!
