Since my cats are bad how would I replace them? Would I need a whole new manifold? Not really sure.

That's what the O2 simulator is for.

They don't smog your car, they hook a scanner up to it, and that's it. OBDII FTW!

 

the 02 sim tells the system that the cats are still there, no check engine light. my truck hunt needed emissions yet, but I'm confident that it will pass when the time comes.

 

If you don't throw a code (CEL) you will pass emissions 99% of the time. The only time I've seen it not pass w/out a CEL is when you reset the ECU and its too soon for emissions to scan it. That or the CEL bulb was burnt out.

 

I wish I could get my bloody simulator on... fuck those clips lmao

 

Hmmmmm. Ill ask my dad since he did emissions recently to confirm and I might actually do long tubes if that is the case of only needing an o2 sim.

 

I thought you were going to sell your truck and get something else?

 

Yea I got a few offers, but my dad is so strict with cars and shit, it kind of pisses me off. He literally says no to everything. Originally I was actually supposed to get a Mustang, which he agreed too.

So I reset my CEL codes with a scanner and your saying I can pass emissions witht the the light not coming on?? I thought it will appear in the emission scanner when it gets plugged in?
