Names Phil, I'm head of the trails crew of GROAZ (Gravity Riders Organization of Arizona) We're a newly formed non-profit organization for gravity fed sports, downhill, dirt jump, skills, etc. etc. Already did work over at mcdowell mountain with the jump line and pump track and will be doing more with them in the future as well as working with the city of Phoenix in building a free ride park for big bikes.

Here's our webpage www.groaz.org and some video links of how well the city of phoenix's south mountain event went this weekend. This is a start of what we want to progress towards. If your interested in joining or just want to come down to one of our monthly meetings to get a feel of what we do shoot me an email and I will get you info.

DH is an expensive hobby. I would love to get into it, but my truck and tuition tend to eliminate any spare cash.:(

It can be pricey but you can get some great deals on bike builds through local shops like rage or kore plus their us always craigslist. My buddy is parting out an xl santacruz vpfree at the moment. I got lucky and snagged my vpfree for an even grand. Parts are expensive but in the end it is cheaper then when I rode my yz250.

Im friends with Kenny B, Aaron S, Carmen and Lynnette, Kathleen and the rest of the Pivot & RideAZ crew. I have a Bullit that I have to get dirty. My buddy just built up a driver 8, so we will be getting out on the short-bus soon.

I just got my stolen pump bike back from a local pawn shop. Posted on craigslist as a buyer with a pic of the bike got an email confirming its location then dealt with asu police and the pawn shop who both gave me the run around so I finally filed with small claims and got it back. Now I've got 5 bikes.....

Werd, dirty gurl was out with us on saturday at or event taking pics. Kenny's already part of the crew. we colabed on the pump together but he put in all the work on it while I focused on the race coarse.

What do you guys think about 29ers? I'm thinking about picking one up in the summer.

I rode them for a while. They make sense if you are 5'10" or higher, ride single-speed, or 29ers are your only mountain bike. I rode them exclusively, then got a 26" 6" travel and going back and forth between the niner and the 26er was frustrating. they handle quite differently.

Niners are ok, they make sense longer wheel base lees suspension. Only option is a single speed setup, lot of the higher end frames are coming with belt drive. Not my cup of tee though....just like road bikes and fixies.
