While I agree to an extent the statistics do not break it down. Not all state assisted births are people on welfare, or food stamps. If you do not work for a company that offers health care or you are self employed you have to purchase health care on your own. Now if you purchase Heath care on your own you are almost guaranteed not to have maternity covered as part of your insurance plan. Due to Obama forcing insurance companies to cover things like wellness check ups and birth control most insurance companies cut maternity coverage all together. Now say you are self employed making the money you make now, living the comfy life paying taxes and what not. Then you decide to have a child. Could you afford To pay the 6-8k dollars (if there are no complications)for the prenatal care and delivery of your child?

Are you suggesting that the taxpayer should be responsible for those costs if the parents can't afford it?

honestly if the parents cant afford it then CPS should step in and give the child to a responsible family that can afford raising a child.

No. I am saying that if you are one of the people who fall into the category mentioned above you are a tax payer and are put in a shitty situation due to Obama Care.
