Depends what you need root for. Some use it for backup apps like titanium backup or making backups from the recover. Others mod/tweak them and try and keep the phone one the bleeding edge.

Just let me know when. There are a lot of little 'tricks' when it comes to android.

Have you found the Easter egg yet?

Root the S3 and load a new rom to it. Brings back life to an old device. Hell I still have an Eve 4g that I run a custom OS to make it just a MP3 player, the thing is fantastic. Gets 8-9 hours of non stop play time, can sit and idol for 15-20 days. Great way to salvage an old phone.

if you want to get ride of that S3 for cheap let me know. I could use a new MP3 player :)

The S3 is a great phone unless you get the last stock update from Verizon, then it's useless unless rooted lol.

I like my S4 though, no reason to upgrade ;)

I might root the S3 for the hell of it and use it for my bike as a dedicated GPS/music player on it. If it crashes and breaks, meh.

    Easter egg?

Is it worth it to root your current phone? I've thought about doing it to my s3 but never really got around to actually doing it

So what do you all use for TV's? I just moved to a new place and there's a big blank wall at the foot of my bed that's asking for a TV and I might as well do surround sound (or at least a sound bar) to finish it up.

I was looking at a LG LED TV that's 49.5" diagonally, but after the price and mocking it up on the wall I think I'll go for a 45" or maybe slightly smaller.

I do have a window with some OK shades that's right beside my bed, and the window is facing south west, so I might have some glare from that if that makes a difference from LED or plasma or the other choices

I don't really have a budget as I'll decide what I want then work for that amount, but under $500 would be nice, oh and I'd prefer 1080 over 720

Well, I can vouch for the 50" LG LED TV's out now... I love mine. I paid about $750 I think ish a couple of months ago. 50LN5400. Doesn't have a lot of features or inputs, but I only use one HDMI input anyway (and TOSLINK to my receiver should I want to use the RCA or other HDMI in to the TV for any reason). All my stuff runs into my Onkyo receiver through HDMI.

The picture/quality/fluidity is awesome. For this "cheap/low end" of a LED TV in this segment... it's awesome IMHO. Any of it's smaller brethren should be just as good.

Just strip out the radios and you'll get great battery life. Then slam it into airplane mode so it doesn't even try to engage the radio's.

Every version of Android has an easter egg hidden.. Easter eggs are just hidden things in software/games. For example the first version of excel had the snake game in it. You just had to type a specific code into the one of the cells to make it run.

ALL rooting a phone does is give you access to the core operating system files. If you are more familiar with windows its like going to C:\windows. The first time you go there you'll get a message asking if you are sure you want to mess around in there. You say yes, and you are 'rooted' technically for windows.

LG is solid. Samsung leads the way right now. Sharp *(high end only)* are also good but you are paying for all the little functions to tweak the picture.

Say away from Vizio. So many of my friends have seen great deals on them, I tell them bad idea, they get it anyways and within 2 years the TV is worthless.

I love my new Samsung. 55" LED 1080p 240hz refresh. No smart features which is what I was looking for since I have my Xbox for all that. Got it from Walmart for less than 800.

That's what I was referencing ;) Your TV is really good for the price you got it for. Picture quality is fantastic. Can't wait to FINALLY watch Final Fantasy. :p
