Yea, having all your shit in one backed up spot is good but I just don't want to pay extra data rates when I want to connect and stream music from my cloud. Unless T-Mobile counts this as free like Spotify, then its something I could consider. I just don't like how everything is going cloud. Nothing is safe on a cloud :(

That's my fear is just loosing everything. I have 4 backup's of everything I have, but its all in one house still. So it 'may' survive a fire in my safe, it may not. I don't back up every week either. As for it being safe, meh, its music and porn. If you want to keep stuff safe in the cloud encrypt the shit out of it, zip it up, then push to the cloud.

Unlimited data FTW! I just checked my bill, 12 gigs used this month. It hasn't been this low in years.

How do you use 12 gigs? I have never understood how people use more than a few unless they're constantly streaming. Most I've used was 5 gigs in a month and I was constantly on my phone(some wifi though because it's faster).

12gigs is the lowest I've hit in the last 3 years. I've hit over 50 in a month and my avg is around 20+

Typically on my phone its doing the following: (Network wise)
Open connection to my home server via RDP - stays connected pretty much all the time
Open FTP connections to my FTP server at home - stays connected/streaming a lot
    Possible downloads from FTP/Cloud/Torrents _
Security Camera's streaming all the time - on 8+ hours a day
    Streaming music/netflix/other website traffic.

Plus I share unlimited data with my wife. She's never gone past 3 gigs and even then that was really high for her. My phone is almost non-stop using network. Since I pay for unlimited I make sure to ramp up the data usage to get what I pay for. Last month I didn't go into my office much so I used WiFi at home. At work I use Sprints network so I don't have to get a nasty gram from the IT team saying I'm hogging bandwidth.

You should see the amount of data I push through my home network each month. I've had Cox call me once and ask me what the hell I was doing.

I don't even know what those top two are. Haha.

I don't blame ya. I wish I had unlimited still. Never understood why they got rid of it. I highly doubt the number of people that could use a serious amount of data was anywhere near the amount that used almost none, like my parents.

Just be careful. I was reading on another site I used to frequent a guy was streaming(or downloading or something. I don't fully remember) something like 100 gigs in a few days and that company canceled the contract because of that.

100gigs on a cell plan, yes I could see them getting mad. On Cox, they only bitched the 1 time when I hit over 1tb down in a month. It was for work and I had proof of what I was doing, but needless to say they were not happy about it.

so it's YOU why Cox has that disclaimer about heavy usage and warnings.. lol ;)

it's nice to stream HD movies or something without worrying about data limits. however t-mobile service does SUCK in regards to dropped calls, call quality, random loss of signal. something i didnt have with Sprint and AT&T.

We recently switched my family to Hulu and Netflix and have been monitoring the monthly usage. The 'usage' meter tends to go to empty rather quickly like this. That and all my kids watch youtube non-stop.

1Tb? Damn! Haha. You're going to be the reason they put data limits on our internets.

That's my issue with cox, is that's its expensive for ok service.

I almost steam netflix or something at the house all day/night. Pandora, netflix, youtube, or just my server hosting files to my friends and family is non-stop.

How much data does your family use per month on netflix and what not?

I'm a data whore that's for sure. I'm into network, I love watching data/packets move around a network.

    I'm with you Robert on the ISP's not planning for growth. It's nice that comcast has a fancy building, but the internet is getting choked out fast. Google is the only one that has prepared for this growth IMO. And we won't see their services for awhile;

there was an article that was just released i forget who was making the comment, that something along the lines 'someone's got to pay for internet growth'. waiiiiit a minute, we are ALREADY DOING THAT. When I was overseas in APAC region, i paid what $25 bucks/month for 100MG 10 years ago?

I'm excited to see Google getting into the ISP game and deliver 1Gig to the house. Then Cox came behind and also offered 1gig services. interesting. It's nice to see someone as big as google making competitors get out of their comfort shell.

    here it is:
    http://www.cnbc.com/id/102200924
" I MEAN THE BOTTOM LINE OF THIS IS THAT AS SPEEDS ON THE INTERNET AND THE AMOUNT OF DATA ON THE INTERNET THE CONSUMERS USE OF THE INTERNET CONTINUES TO EXPLODE SOMEBODY HAS TO PAY FOR THE CAPACITY THAT IT TAKE TO DO THIS CONNECTIVITY. "

    Yes we consumers do.
