Head up to North Dakota. You could land there and have a high-paying job on day 1, and on year 1 you could be literally rolling in money. Downside? You'd simply have to live in ND. ;)

Yup, you're correct. I just came back from there. Very expensive, but a person can drastically cut costs by living with others. Entire neighborhoods are going up every day. Many new "homes" are built for multiple people rather than single families, meaning tons of bedrooms upstairs and downstairs. Jobs there still pay stupid money, so hooking up with other like-minded folks can work out.

A lot of the big rigs will pay for their guys' housing. I know plenty of people who work 2wks on 2 off and live in MT. Its real money, but you'll work your ass off.

Yeah, definitely. My first trip was meeting a ton of rig workers, and they get beaten mercilessly despite the excellent pay and paid man-camp living. This last trip was meeting more truck drivers starting around $150k/yr, but my buddy is around $250k as a supervisor after almost a year of driving. This gal opened her own little shop almost 6 months ago and just rented a 6k square foot home and bought a $60k Escalade. lol If I didn't mind living in freezing ND I would move there in a heartbeat for the $$.

I'm from MT and am very familiar with that area. I work in the railroad industry right now which is decent money, but doesn't touch oil money. However, you probably couldn't pay me enough to work in Williston or Minot. Its like the wild west up there right now. It'd probably be alright for just me, but I would never take a family up there.

lol Yup, Williston is where I'm talking about. Definitely the Wild West! I really enjoy the natives, but it's the other elements coming into town who are asshats. Friend just got robbed at knife-point. Have another friend whose 18yo kid is making $80k/yr as a manager of some store.

Colton, are you just over the border? I want to make it to MT some day soon. I imagine it's beautiful!

No, I'm not. I grew up in Butte, which is in SW Montana. I have a lot of family on the far eastern side of the state though so I'm familiar. I recently moved to Minnesota for work though.

Sorry for the late response. I worked for a custom motorcycle builder. I was in charge of pretty much everything except working on bikes. I did some light tech but nothing major. I took care of all parts searching/ordering, invoicing, web sales, shipping/receiving, inventory, etc.

As for IT, I did actually complete the Cisco Academy years ago but never got my CCNA. It's been long enough that things have changed in the field. I just talked to my wife yesterday about going back and taking classes again.

Right now, the bills just need to be paid and hope that the kids can have some sort of Christmas.

we need someone whom can work on domestic vehicles, mainly ford. lube changes, brakes, suspension maintenance, boring stuff like that. However also includes the random boom truck or crane truck repair of hydro parts.

must have own tools, and somewhat clean record.

    pm me for details.

    located in central/west phoenix
