ahh ok probably go to bass pro and get a new reel as well one of these days. there are some local communitys around me that have big ol bass in em. and at discovery park off the 202 and market street you can catch little blue gills all day with meel worms

I would just do that. I sell reels but unless you are going to be up here its pointless. I would go to bass pro too.

Side note just had my fishing rep in and told me of a couple secret spots that fish and game will pull big mouth and trout out of lakes *black canyon , knoll, bear,* and place them in these secret ponds no one knows about cause they are not "actual" ponds per the state so they dont make it to the fishing regs. One is right up at the top of the rim. Im thinking about heading out to it on Tuesday or thursday if anyone wants to join

Would like to know of these spots...:D
My buddy and I went up to Bear Canyon last night to do some fishing/kayaking this morning. Would of been a nice day if there wasn't 40 mph winds. After no bites and frozen hands we called it quits. Even with no fish in the bag it was still good to be back up on the rim.

Was out at Bartlett all day yesterday (8am-dark)

Caught A LOT of bass but all were doinks... (1-2lbs)

The bluegill were scarce and only caught 4 to use as bait for the flatheads.

Went behind Bartlett this weekend and had a great campsite for 2 nights. Caught a couple 5# channel cats, but like Scott said... no bluegill to be found for live bait. Bass everywhere though. Also got a chance to use the winch to rip that tree out of the ground in front of my rig. It burned for 4 hours that night.

That log was essentially the root of that old tree. We swing a sharp axe at it and it bounced back like hitting concrete. The inside was like mahogany. That stuff burnt so long and put off so much heat, we didn't need any other wood except some scraps to get it going.
