I've done the CK run a few times but it's been a long time. Is the road doable in a stock truck with no lift? The last time I did it, there were bypasses around most of the rough parts, but I don't know the condition of the trail at this point. I'm not new to wheelin', so no issues there. I just don't want to waste the bottom of the truck or rockers.

Thinking about doing it next Saturday before it gets too hot. If it's doable, all are welcome. I probably won't go if there's no takers. I'm not big on going alone.

No one? Someone has to know if a stocker will do it?

You'll have no problem. Could probably manage without engaging 4wd. Couple months ago, passed a Tahoe and a Durango heading up.

    Thanks for the info.

Anyone want to go? I'll have the wife and kids with me if anyone wants to take the family.

Had a buddy in a stock offroad make it. Think he took a couple bypass' but still doable. If you're talking about the back way through CK you'll need 4x.

At least throw some sliders on that nice new truck of yours......you'll be able to get through most trails even if spotters are needed.

Sliders are coming soon. I had a well built 94 jeep YJ and having rocker protection saved me a bunch of times. I had too many friends who had doors that wouldn't open very well because they didn't think they'd need sliders.

If I go, I'll just take it easy and make a nice day of it since I'll have the family with me. If I see something that looks fun that won't hurt the truck, I'm game.

Wish i could go.. my truck is in the shop getting a bumper and skids put on otherwise i'd be all over it!

I did this (long) trail about 6 weeks ago and it was for the most part doable without 4x4. There are 2-3 areas where 4x4 is required and a few places where high clearance is needed. Definitely not a wimpy trail! Passing vehicles can sometimes be tricky.

Having said all of the above, i loved the trail and can't wait to do it again!

Nobody wants to go? I'd rather go now than later when it gets too hot. It's still nice in the mornings so it wouldn't have to be a butt crack of dawn start time.

I would start behind Pleasant. Sunday works for me too if that matters to anyone.

I would rather not. That would defeat the purpose of trying to beat the heat. And even worse, we would be fighting oncoming traffic all day. There's too many places that passing could be an issue.

I did bumblebee to Prescott via CK in my 2 day old Tacoma. (2 weeks ago:) ) I dropped in to 4L just to go slow through some of it. Just that short run takes a fair amount of time. 4hrs at least.

I did hit my Mudflaps on one section so yank em off to save em when your done.

The nice thing is the Entune with Nav showed the trail.
